Sorry to be absent-ish...I've been running around like a mad woman, over-working a bit and just trying to get my life back to what resembles normal...all is well here though. I've been missing on the work outs and REALLY need to get back to it!! Thanks for checking up on me...it is nice to know that you are out there!! I love your new pictures BTW!!! So cute!!! You look so happy in them...I like that!! I hope you have a great weekend!! Happy Sparking!!
Hello! The sun is shinning here and the small garden is growing I have my first small little green tomato. God bless you! Love and prayers Jenny
This Bible passage has been such a blessing for me and I wanted to share it with you!
Isaiah 40 :28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. It's always a blessing to get a word of encouragement from you!! Added weights back into my gym workout for the first time since I re-popped my hernia, ( 1 1/2 months), and it felt good to get my arms and back working again. Did the machines as opposed to free weights so I don't aggrivate my ab area too much. Having a hernia sucks!! I guess my NSV for today is that I sincerely felt better after using the machines. Still adore the eliptical and am blown away by how much it makes me sweat...another big switcharoo from my 10 years at Curve's. Still trying to rein in my calories. Staying right between the max 1550, and a bit over 1700.....still not perfection...as my range dictates 1200-1550...but in looking back over my last 2 months....1700-1900 was more my norm. So as you said super encourager....small steps and goals. I've been drinking more green tea, and have cut alcohol out completely the last few weeks. Last was wine at the Lavender festival. So should see some results there as it has so much sugar!
As for our 4th of July weather.....it's a good thing I grilled mid day to accomodate kids work schedules! The sky opened up early evening and just poured down rain. As you know, we live in the high desert.....so very very dry! Whenever we get rain or snow it's exciting!!! So Jay and I sat out on the back patio and just admired God's break from our 105+ temps. I love the way it smells, fells and sounds.
Meg and I did a Trial run at her middle east cuisine. I LOVE FILAFEL Tahini sauce is nice too....although we have enough of that now to feed an army!! Made pistachio baklave. Oh My!!! 190 calories per serving. Very delish....but not something you want to have hangin' around the house, So we are sharing it....as we'll need to make another batch for the party!
Well now that I've written a novel.....have a great week and I'll TTYS!
Taj!!!! You look AMAZING!!! I need to update my pics too. I fear my image will look slightly larger rather than smaller. Phooey!! Eating has been a real challenge!! I've gained so much of my weight back!!! Gonna have to get real and adjust my ticker dag bernit! My hernia hasn't helped much, especially in the work out dept. Finally drug my hiney in 3 days and did an hour on the eliptical last week, and Jay and I went for a short (1 mile) walk today. Heat is off the charts, 108!! So too hot to be too active. Have prepped salads and have a lot of beautiful fruits and veggies to use for "cool" meals this week as well. I've been soooooo busy since I got off for summer break.. Literally an event every weekend....family reunion, did flowers and food for a small wedding for a friend, Meg's 20th birthday....and then the lavender festival eating was a bust on my calories....and Meg wants a dinner party for her "crew" on the 13th. A middle eastern menu....all is really healthy except for the baklava she has me learning how to make! lol. Stess has continued.....wrote, cast and am now directing and "playing in the women's retreat skit which is in Sept., and am making "crowns of thorns for 32 banquet tables for that. This summer and last summer are polar opposites!!!! God in His Infinite Wisdom, as slowed my veggie garden down so not out there as much. Thankful for my leadership study, we are doing Pursuing More of Jesus by Anne Graham Lotz. REALLY GOOD STUDY!!!
Please pray for my Self Control!!! Denying myself is still something I struggle with every day!!! Hope your July is awesome!!! Again....you are so beautiful I wish I could just reach into my computer and give ya a great big hug!!! Keep up the good work my friend...although I may not be succeediing so well right now, you sincerely do encourage and motivate me to be better with my healthy lifestyle goals!!! TTYS, Bren
The challenge is alright... not perfect, but I just finished week 3! I'm actually going to get it this time! lol. That's awesome that you're going to do a 5k! It makes all the training worth it! And it gives you more motivation to train, because you have a RACE! Let me warn you--it's addictive!! :)
