Time to keep moving toward my goal

I am now 73 years old. I'm getting close to losing the weight I gained while on prednisone. (30 pounds)I have R.A. and this is a miracle drug to me, but it is also dangerous to take long term. I went off of it completely, but have been in a lot of pain. But was put back on a reduced amount, so the pain is a bit better, but starting to get back the cravings I had when I was on it before.

Currenly, I am almost down to 240 which is where I was before losing the weight the first time. ...

Currenly, I am almost down to 240 which is where I was before losing the weight the first time. I need to stick to logging and hopefully will keep on toward my final goal which is 170. It's not going to be easy!

My Goals:
To lose enough weight to feel good, to be content and happy with my looks and to be able to sit on the floor and play with my grandchildren or slide on the slide with them

My Program:
Track my calories each day, walking 15 min per day this week and increase it gradually, getting a good night's sleep and put one foot in front of the other and not ever give up even if i slip on occasion.

Personal Information:
I live just outside of Champaign, il in a little country town, but I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I'm in my 60's, married, retired (but love reading, genealogy and lots of stuff) I have 3 children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren that I'd like to be able to keep up with.

Hello! I saw your name on the IL thread about where you live. My name is Brenda and I live in Monticello. Your the first person I've seen that lives near me. I love this web site and enjoy meeting new friends on here. I hope your keeping warm today! I can't believe the wind chill is -45 degrees below zero. We had drifts 3ft. tall in our driveway this morning. I'm so glad we brought a snow blower last winter. I added you as a friend and would like to cheer each other on during our weight loss! Good exercises for the back ... lay on your back and do leg raises... and then on your tummy and do more leg raises... only do what you feel comfortable with... then do one more... be sure not to raise your back or your neck.. I had to have someone hold mine down... but it will strengthen you core...

Also, planks are good for everything.... they are hard... but work up your time until you can do them for at least 30 seconds... when you reach that point... do 2... then 3... then.. so on...

Also, remember to not work out the same muscles group two days in a row... your muscles need time to heal... you can do these every other day....

I am working with a personal trainer and would love to share what I am learning....
