2013 and I back where I was in 2010.
So this year I am starting over at 205 again facing 43 years of weight control battles. I know my metabolism is slowing and I must exercise up to a good sweat for at least 4 hours a week.
I know I have to limit my intake of bread products.


I have to work on myself first and then give my heart out slowly.
I received a phone call from my past and realized how much I have allowed my true self to be shrunk and embittered by those who surround me. I will start to enjoy my life again. I will remove my emotional shackles and stop using baking and food preparation as a means of avoidance.

I have begun a slow but steady weight loss journey in 2011 on SPARK. I have delt with being heavy my whole life. After moving to San Antonio in 2002 I slowly but surely packed on the pounds for 8 years. Now in 2011 I have gotten rid of 20 and have another 20 to go this year.

I will lose slowly but steadily. I did not pack it on at 2 pounds a month but I know I can loose it that fast.

I was very pleased to find a free tracker to help me in my goal to maintain a healthy weight. The huge portions, lack of exercise, and not having any motivation to stay healthy has taken its toll.

Spark is my accountability tool. I love it.

I really enjoy outings around town with family and friends. I make an attempt to see all the parks and attractions in the area. After living in the DC metropolitan area and hearing only tourist go downtown; I realized what a shame it was to live somewhere and not see the wonderful things available where you live.

WEIGHTLOSS IS INDIVIDUAL
You have to do it the way YOU can sustain it.

1. If walking/cycling is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water and is fat.
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.
4. A tortoise doesn't run, does nothing--yet lives for 450 years.

We can change quality of our life; but quantity of life is not ours to decide.

    Have you ever been to the Wholistic Fair at the Hilton Airport in San Antonio? They have it monthly. April's is the 13th. You should check it out if you are close enough.

    We did finish the 13.1 miles--not that it was always easy, but was walking with the folks I usually walk with, Terry, James, and our 3 dogs--and enjoyed seeing and talking with so many folks, and admiring the courage and resolve of some who struggled every step but still finished. Pretty impressive. Next time you will be with us!
