2013 is my year to do it!

I am the type of person who if I don't pay attention I just gain weight. I was never taught how to eat right, my parents always cooked meals from a box (hamburger helper, mac & cheese...) So this is my year to figure it all out.
I have 2 6.5 year old boys that are VERY active. And I love playing with them but I want to be able to be more active with them. I also want to break the cycle and teach them good eating and exercise habits so they do not get stuck with fighting their weight ...

My Program:
I've used weight watchers before and it worked. But when I lost my job I couldn't afford it. I'm so glad I found Sparks, it's free AND I now have it on my phone so it is always with me! I am currently tracking my calories and cardio 3 days and strength training 3 days.

I love to read and enjoy a good movie. I actually love scary movies that make me jump. The best. I also enjoy summer activities and snowshoeing, and scrapbooking is my guilty pleasure.

I came across the following quote while "googling around" the internet yesterday and think it's message is so important that I want to share it with my friends!
Sheila

"All of life is a journey; which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there." From A Little Book of Happiness

I've learned that being realistic about our goals is an integral and powerful part of this journey. We are all doing the best we can in moving towards our goals every day and need to remember to celebrate the successes, no matter how small they may seem. We need to have each and every one of those successful moments to reach our ultimate goals! Success is so important as a motivator and provides fresh encouragement every time we can say "I did it!" Don’t hesitate to share those successes with the rest of us.
I’ll start - I have stayed on track and faithful to my goals, both in nutrition and exercise, for 6 of the past 7 days! I chose to focus on the 6 good days rather than the one that was not quite as good!
Stay positive!
Sheila

emoticon Always remember that you are worth all the effort you put forth to be successful. Always have faith in yourself and in your ability to be successful.
Stay focused on your goals and stay positive!
