I refuse to Give up!

My name is Teresa and I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. My "dieting career" began when I was 10. So for the last 40 years I think I have tried just about everything there is. One thing for sure, there is no magic fix.

My name is Teresa and I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. My "dieting career" began when I was 10. So for the last 40 years I think I have tried just about everything there is. One thing for sure, there is no magic fix.

I started this journey on SparkPeople in Novemeber of 2011 and I began like a race horse out of the gate. I have to say I did great until I strayed from the principlas outlined here on Spark. So the flame that was fizzled. Thankfully there was enough of an ember still glowing, that I am back, I refuse to give up!

So I am starting at ground zero, redoing everything on my Spark page. I am allowing myself to revel in a fresh start, rather than wallow in a failure. I realize that it is not a sprint and the first to the finish line wins, rather it is a marathon and slow and steady wins the race!

Thank you to my spark friends who have stayed in touch and sent well wishes, you are the wind that fanned my embers!

My Goals:
1.Lose 37 pounds!

2.Learn how to eat more healthfully

3.Make exercise part of my daily routine.

4. Have the energy to play with my Grandchildren

5. Cook healthy low calorie meals, even if it is just for myself.

6.I would like to incorporate some kind of a fitness goal, such a 5k, I just don't know what that goal will be yet. I don't think I am runner, but you never know, stranger things have happened.

7. To have better self confidence.

My Program:
1. Eat a small healthy breakfast everyday. This is really hard for me, as I have skipped meals, especially breakfast for so long, it is second nature for me not to eat.

2. Stay within calorie guideline set up fro me here on Sparkpeople.

3. Cardio for 30 minutes a day 5 times a week.

3. Strength Training three times a week.

4. Use Sparkpeople nutrition and fitness trackers.

Personal Information:
Time for me! My name is Teresa and my plan is to Twinkle, just like the "little" star! Please note, emphasis on Little! Well with in reason of course! I am a wife, mother, friend (to many) and grandmother of two beautiful, and perfect grandkids! No bias here of course. I have a kitty cat named Dog , a boxer named Diesel and great dane named Bodie.

I am excited about this new phase in my life, I look forward to my success and best wishes to all for their greatest successes as well!

Other Information:
Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration. The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life's sweetest creation.

Thank you so much Teresa for stopping by and sending your healing thoughts. You are a blessing to me! I am doing a bit better today and my EKG today was pretty good as compared to yesterday's! I walked with my DH and pup for 45 minutes today...however slowly but I did it, I'm sure the dog was thrilled I wasn't moving at my normal pace! It's people like you that help make this journey such a pleasure to be on even when things aren't quite going as planned! One step at a time! Hugs, and thank you again...

Hello T! Happy Sunday to you too! It's so nice when a pal leaves a goodie and a note AND a comment! Feels like Christmas!!!!

I think I can relate to you a little with being the ROCK of the family. It's hard. And nobody really seems to understand you and all you want is what's best for everybody...including yourself.

The best way I can explain it to myself is, "Christal, if you can't love yourself, nobody will." And if those around your aren't supportive, they can either jump on the bandwagon or get bumped off. It's hard though. Our mind and spirit can only take so much sometimes. That's why we need each other. Support, laughter and encouragement through the hard times.

This weekend, I feel like I have been a garbage disposal. I hit the 11 pound mark on the ticker (thank you for noticing...makes me feel good) and I figured, shew...I got this. And I turned into a piggy! I told my sister, " I don't like feeling like this. I don't like feeling full to the point it's painful." So, I'll learn from this and move on. Tomorrow's a new day, the next minute is a new minute. So many choices! I have to do this for myself though T. And so do you.

This battle can only be won by you. And the gift you give to yourself, only you can give. Nobody else. That's precious in itself.

Let me know how the hypnotist works. I've got an open mind. And it's mind over matter.

You keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Pick yourself back up to be stronger each and every time. I believe in you. You believe in yourself.
