LOL, I know how that goes. I have done the same thing myself. My hubby and I split alot of things if we go out to eat. And we most of the time we order water to drink, mostly because a lot of places charges 1.50 and up or drinks. We save a coupleof bucks and add lemon wedges and splenda to our water.
My day has gone ok.. I started cookin dinner at about 3 this afternoon. With all of my health problems it takes a long time for me to cook.. We have been cooking at home now for abot three weeks straight without that trip to the dollar menu once a week. I have to say except for mcdy's fries I don't miss it. On th days where I absolutely have no energy is usually a soup and sandwhich and hey hubby does that.
I try to make a few meals ahead on the weekends when he is home and we pop them in the freezer and pull them out during the week.
We had mostly veggies for supper. Steamed cabbage, black eyed peas with greenbeans and ham, mashed gingered carrots, creamstyle corn and cornbread. Because of my gout we limit are meat choices to 2-3 a week.
Right now I am snacking on homemade roasted pumpkin seeds. I haven't done the cal count yet but I am sure it will be better than the pre package ones.
