Hi, I joined Sparkpeople to lose weight and become motivated to exercise last year, but then dropped the ball for a variety of reasons. I am now back for the new year and excited to be on the way to a healthier, leaner body!
I'd like to lose ten pounds, and become healthier in general. I get migraines, and have IBS, and I think becoming physically stronger and getting regular exercise would help with both of those health issues.
2 lb: Faster Pussycat CD
5 lb: cowboy boots!
7 lb: GnR CD
10 lb: bikini and belly ring!

I'm going to use the calorie counter at least 5 days a week and try to get some sort of cardio 6 days a week. Three of those days will be something that actually raises my heartbeat (e.g. kickboxing, zumba, dance, hiking); the other 3 can be less strenuous (e.g. walking the dog). I'm going to do strength training 2x a week and yoga 1x a week (hopefully 3x eventually). I'm also going to re-read "Mama Gena's School of Womanly Arts," a positive thinking manual, and get to bed between 10:30 and 11:00 every night, well, at least every week night!
I'm 34, and live in a small town called High Falls in the Hudson Valley, New York State. I work at a non-profit doing conservation biology, mostly with turtles. I love to hike, dance, see my friends, spend time with my dog, read, and cook!
My favorite book is probably still Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
favorite movies: Spinal Tap or Princess Bride!
favorite bands: L7, Faster Pussycat, GnR, Donna the Buffalo, the Nields, Joan Jett, Sisters of Mercy...too many to list!!
