My name is Teresa and I am back for my second go-round with Sparkpeople. The first time I lost 25 pounds, met my goal weight, and trained for and ran 2 5K races. Then I started back to work part-time and I lost my schedule flexibility. It's been two years since I started saying, "I just have to get settled into my new routine." I did lose 20 pounds last year (that I'd gained back) but it was purely through dieting, and I missed the energy and toning effects of exercise. The trick this time around will be to resist my usual "all or nothing" mentality. I don't have to exercise everyday for results because then missing a day won't be regarded as a complete fail.

My Goals:
Lose 25 pounds (again). Shrink my waist so my clothes are comfortable. Exercise without becoming obsessive, 4 times a week should be ideal, and maintain that routine. Make time for myself doing things I enjoy and enhance my well-being.

My Program:
Track nutritional intake daily to stay accountable to goals.
Walk/hike 4x week until spring to get into the habit of moving routinely. Schedule this on my calendar in ink!

Personal Information:
I live in beautiful Montana where it should be entirely motivating to get outside. I have walked and run every mile of my rural neighborhood numerous times so it is a challenge to get out there some days.
I am 44 years old and struggling with the physical changes and other inevitabilities of aging on my body and psyche.

    HERE I am!!! I got all frustrated at having a low week and GAINING weight!! I abandoned ship for a week...

    I have a doctor's appointment on Friday to check out the Thyroid function again... this is nuts.

    5 1/2 weeks could be 10 pounds (for those of us who still have that to lose)!!

    Put those new shoes on and head out before the snow is here!! You can totally do 4.4 pounds in 5.5 weeks! Step it up, my friend!! emoticon

    The cleanse is phenomenal!! It's 9 days long. The first 2 days are the hardest, they are the cleanse liquid only (in a perfect world... I still take in some cubed melon if I'm hungry). The next 5 are two of the shakes (I add a cup of frozen blueberries to the shakes) and a reasonable meal (400-600 cal), then the last 2 days are liquid cleanse days again.

    I'm on day 5 and going to make the balsamic glazed salmon for dinner tonight!!
