New Life, New Love

I come from a family with a variety of weight related health issues. I am always saying I want to keep my weight under control, exercise regularly, and control what I eat (instead of what I eat controlling me). I decided it is time that I start doing instead of saying. I have a six year old son and I don't want him to struggle like me or the rest of our family. I want to set a good example that health is a life style and a good one at that.

I want to set a good example that health is a life style and a good one at that.

I started two years ago and this has been a long, hard road. Recently I had let exercise and eating right fall to the way side. I am ready to jump back on the band wagon. It has only been a few weeks and I can already feel the difference. I am happier, feel better, and am more confident.

I would appreciate any advice on fun, healthy food for kids.

Update: I gave birth to a baby girl on May 19th and am excited to be back and losing again.

Hi, it's been a long time since I've checked into the Breastfeeding Moms group, but now that baby #2 is here, I'm popping in more & more. Just saw that your little one is weaning. I know it is hard & emotional, but letting go is part of parenting, sadly.

hi! I was reading your answers to the vegan questionnaire and thought I would pass along a couple of things...You had wanted a good vegan biscuits and brown gravy--for something quick, I recommend Betty Crocker's biscuit recipe and just substitute soymilk for the milk--my absolute favorite recipe since I can remember. If you want a good packaged vegan gravy mix, I love Hain Vegan Brown Gravy Mix--it's absolutely delicious and easy to make in no time. You can have biscuits in gravy in 20 minutes!
