Me hamin it up!
Chuck and myself
My Daughter, Samantha's, first day of 5th grade
Hi there! My name is Trish and I live in Northern Minnesota where "Meat & Potatoes" are a way of life. I'm about to change that for my family. I love walking, bike riding, camping, fishing, deer hunting, cooking, gardening, make jewlery, listen to music and go to the movies. So I think there isn't anything I don't like to do.
I work graveyard at a grocery store and get enough walking in when I'm working (42,000 sq. ft. building). I enjoy working where I work and love my job. I stay pretty busy all night long. I have a 12 yr old daughter who is my LIFE! We moved to MN in 2001 from Olympia, WA where I had lived for 17 years and she was born. We have been living with my boyfriend, Chuck, for the past 4 years. We have a dog, "Buddy" and 2 Black cats, "Sable" & "Onyx", (their sisters we adopted from the pound) and enjoy life in our small town of 1200.
I decided that this was the year I was going to get healthy so that I could live longer and feel better. I do plan to lose weight, (goal: 42 lbs. by June 07) which will help me feel better and be more active. I love the summer and can't wait for the warm weather, (now it's pretty cold, Jan.) to get outside!
My goal is to eat healthier and be more active so I will feel better and live a longer life. Which will in turn help me to lose weight!
I am reading Bob Greene's book; The Best Life Diet.

The name doesn't sound familiar, but about the only people I know in the Coon Rapids / Blaine area are my in-laws. I hear you about the slipping up and feeling horrible about it. I like to shop as well....but we really, really can't afford it. (Living off of only my husband's income and my part-part-time job right now.) Part of the reason I decided that now would be a good time to give this weight loss stuff 100% is that I have lots of time and I REALLY needed to get out of the house. If for no other reason, I'm happier when I get out of the house to the gym. Before Christmas it was to the point that I felt like a pet. Kyle would come home from work and it was like "Oh, human interaction! Finally."
When you start slipping, the only thing you can do is forgive yourself, pick up and carry on. To pacify my shopping urges, I find new recipes and go to the grocery store instead. I get to shop and try out something new! ....and my husband has been spoiled lately. We tried out a marinara recipe last night. I'll post it to 25-50 today. Hope to see you getting back into the workouts & meal trackers before the week ends. :D

Thanks for the add. My husband and I are both from the Twin Cities (Blaine & Hastings, respectively). I went to college at Winona State before moving out to CO. I see our goals are similar. Thanks for pointing out where the recipes are on here....I'm hoping to make several part of my everyday cooking. Trying the Portobello Burgers tonight! :D
