Hi my name is Karen and I am 20 years old. I found this site while researching ways to lose my stubborn fat, which is extremely difficult when you have PCOS, like me. I was a dedicated athlete in High School, playing sports year round and team captain of most of my teams, still around the age of 15, when my doctor put me on birth control for my irregular 'visits' I began gaining weight, and have been unable ot shed it. I'm not your avergae 20 year old, whatever average means, I'm what I like to call an 'old soul'. I'm married, no children, just happily married for love, I know I am lucky to find a man who can love me even if I grow facial hair thanks to my PCOS and refuse to remove it or wear make up since I'm quite the feminist.
At this point in my life my PCOS has taken over, or atleast feels lik eit has. My self esteem is non existant, my depression beats out my desires to have a life on most days, I'm constantly worried about my health since my family has a history of heart disease and diabetes, making me more likely to develop it on top of the fact that PCOS already double my chances. To top it all off my anxiety has spun out of control, I have no friends, people my age just don't seem to have the same things on their mind, I can barely open my mouth to speak amongst strangers. A month ago now I stopped taking my birth control, step one of many toward my goal of being healthy the natural way.
Anyway, I'm not hear to be a negative nancy, I'm here because I want to change and help other people in whatever way I can.
