Hi! It's my first time actually writing something in this forum and it took me a bit to get here. My name is Lori and I'm 41 years old. I initially signed up on Sparkpeople in September of 2012 but really didn't do anything with it. In October 2012 I had major surgery and was laid up for a few weeks. One good thing came out of it...I stopped smoking!! After 20 years off and on I finally quit for good. It hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be but I guess when you're going through most of the withdrawals in the hospital on pain medication it tends to be a bit easier. But during this time of immobility as well as not smoking anymore I gained 20 lbs!! I was already obese but I made it even worse because I was bored and ate all the time. Anyway, I finally came around to the fact that next year I'm either going to be healthier or I'm going to be the same so I might as well do something about it!

It didn't take long to figure out the title for my page. It seems like I'm always starting again. In some ways that can be a bit depressing but I look at it with a positive spin to mean that I never give up! It's hard not to give up sometimes and I look at the journey and think that I'll never get to the end of it. I've decided to look at the journey as a never-ending one...in other words I should never stop wanting to get healthier or wanting to eat better or wanting to be stronger!

I started two days ago recording my weight and my activities. I've been pretty good with the food but after the first night of exercising I have to admit that I was so sore I decided to skip it the next night. Well, in 3 days I've lost about 2 pounds! Probably just water weight but I will take what I can get and run with it!

I'm excited about getting this journey started and seeing where it leads me. I love this site and will turn to you whenever I run into an issue with any part of my weight loss! Thanks in advance for being there for me... :)

My Goals:
Actually the best goal I have is to fit into my daughter's clothes! That would drive her crazy! But I just want to be healthy and be around for a long time to come.

My Program:
I'm trying to make one healthy choice at a time, take it one situation at a time and see how it goes. I'm staying active and even if I don't have time to exercise I'll do something to keep moving!

    "BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AWARD"

You are the recipient of the Beautiful Woman Award!!

Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the page of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out!

    Again, Congratulations Beautiful
