Update 1.14.09: Well, here I go starting over AGAIN! I joined Sparks in October 2008 & was successful in losing 8 lbs in 2 months. Then in December the stress of the holiday season & work got the best of me. I went back to all of my bad habits once again & gained all 8 lbs back.
Well, now it's a new year & a new beginning for me!
~ I am DONE not making myself a priority.
~ I am DONE turning to food whenever life gets hard.
~ I am DONE making excuses.
~ I am DONE losing the same pounds over & over again.
~ I am DONE feeling sorry for myself.
~ I am DONE being uncomfortable in my own skin.
~ I am DONE being the fat girl! I WILL remind myself life is too short to be unhappy!
I am a 32 years old, happily married, & blessed in so many ways. Unfortunately, I have a habit of never focusing on the multiple ways I have been blessed. Instead, I dwell on the 1 thing I have struggled with for years...my weight.
I was a life time member of Weight Watchers a few years ago, but then gained all the weight back due to health issues. It's been a little over a year now that I've been healthy, but still haven't lost the weight.
I am hoping this site will help support my journey, introduce me to others who can relate to what I am going through, & be the motivation I need to lose the weight & keep it off once and for all.
No matter how hard I try, I always seem to revert back to thinking I am completely alone & no one understands what I am going through. I would LOVE to meet people who do understand, who can support/motivate me, & I can help in return so PLEASE add me as a friend if you think we have something in common.
1 - Stop feeling self conscious every minute of my life.
2 - Excercise consistently 3-5 times per week.
3 - Make myself a priority.
4 - Limit the number of diet sodas I drink.
5 - Reduce/eliminate artificial sweetners.
6 - Log onto Sparks daily.
7 - Lose 30 lbs.
1 - Make time to track all food/exercise daily.
2 - Plan meals in advance.
3 - Work out a minimum of 3 days a week.
4 - Stay within my set calorie range.
5 - Eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep my metabolism going.
6 - Challenge myself by doing the couch to 5K program.
I have a Business Analyst/Project Manager job that I love, but still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.
My sister, Jessie, is a huge inspiration to me. She is mentally handicapped & has taught me so much in life. I have volunteered for Special Olympics, handicapped bowling leagues, etc. in the past. I need to once again make it a priority - it is so rewarding!
I'm happiest when I am hanging out with my friends & family.
I enjoy reading, but don't make enough time for it other than my addiction to weekly celebrity gossip in my People mag.
While I don't watch much TV, I will never miss a Packer game. I am a closet reality TV show junkie & love Grey's Anatomy, House, Private Practice, & Brothers & Sisters. Thank God for DVR!
