Let's Go!

Hello everybody! I want to be in better shape to be more active. I'd love to take up a sport which requires some flexibility and agility which I don't currently have.

I hit my high (or rather I guess, my low) August 2009 at 5'7 and 252 pounds. From then until starting Spark, I took off 22 pounds, but the weight loss was sporadic and up and down. I want to make a lifestyle change I can sustain. I started Spark at 230 pounds, and one day I will be 150.

I plan to continue walking as much as I can, taking the stairs when I can, and pulling the yoga mat out to do strength training. I've signed up for an Aquafitness class for the summer. Somewhere down the road, I'm going to take up Yoga.

It's going to be work, but it's going to be fun as well!

My Goals:
-Lose weight and take up a sport I've always been afraid of trying. I think it's going to be surfing, but it might be sea kayaking or scuba diving. I love the water!

First weight loss goal: to lose 27 pounds and get down to 203 pounds - the weight I was when I met my husband.
Goal reached on 8/17/10.
Reward: silver earrings (still have to pick them out)

Second weight loss goal: to reach 175 pounds.
Reward: possibly expensive perfume of my choosing.

My Program:
-Aim for at least 50 minutes of activity, 6 days a week.
-Walk wherever I can. Make my exercise purposeful.
-Aim for swimming 2x a week, half an hour a time.
-Strength training 2x a week.
-Flow Yoga twice a week.
-Use the Nutrition Tracker.
-Try to be more positive.
-Meditate for 5 minutes daily.




Personal Information:
I'm a transplanted Canadian, living with my American husband in Los Angeles.

Other Information:
I love cooking, knitting, yoga, and reading. I adore reading!
