I'm a 57 yo with a bazillion interests. This sounds nuts---but I actually ENJOY losing weight, exercising, and improving my well-being. I feel so much better when I'm on the journey. It's the languishing and doing nothing that really drives me crazy.

My Goals:
I'm fabulous at losing weight. I knocked off 85 pounds in 5 1/2 exercising and eating superbly well! Historically, though, I've been just as fabulous at gaining it back. Its just that "keeping-the-weight-off" thingy that's been so stinkin' difficult.

My Program:
I stick strictly to a low glycemic index/paleo or a primal diet. It's also called an ancestral diet because is what our ancestors lived on for thousands of years.

I eat lots of fruit, nuts, and veggies. I also eat lots of lean grass fed protein (usually chicken, turkey, fish, or shellfish...and I do work in some pork and beef.) As I'm trying to do low glycemic index/low carb...I avoid all grains and most legumes. I do occasionally eat some some dairy...but its infrequent and mostly in the form of a full fat cheese.

Personal Information:
I live in southwestern Pennsylvania. I believe it's perfect living here; we have four distinct seasons...each as gorgeous as the next.

There are skads of biking trails, parks, forests and rivers. I live close enough to the Appalachians so I can ski and hike.

I work for a wonderful home health agency and hospice. I thoroughly enjoy doing humanitarian work.

Other Information:
I love to bike ride---especially distance riding. I also like smooth jazz, scuba diving, flying, travelling, downhill skiing, kayaking and hiking.

Ok...I like science fiction and I love archeology, genetics, physiology, biochemistry, physical science, and world history. I guess that makes me nerdy.

Travel is a particularly big big passion of mine.
