Make it happen!

My body is starving for a change. It's time to give in to the need and feed the beast! I've joined the specialized SparkCoach program in order to get back on track. I'm hoping to shake up my daily routines, find more balance and motivation to get fit. Now that baby-making has been put on the back burner for a year (so sad!) I've got a timeline to get serious and make this happen!

March 2012 - I'm two weeks post-partum and am ready to get my body back before getting pregnant again this fall. (Yes, I must be crazy!) Looking forward to getting back to it and making great things happen!

Clean slate.

In January 2009 I joined SparkPeople with the goals of eating healthier, exercising more and being more aware of my body and striving for a healthier lifestyle. I gained a lot of knowledge and support and lost 15 pounds! Since then I've gotten comfortable, backed off the working out, stopped tracking food and am right back where I started.

This time, I've got the knowledge. This time, I know the support is there, and this time I've got a new goal. I was just married on 11/6/10 and we'd like to start trying for a new baby this spring! I really want to be in the best shape possible before pregnancy.

So, here we are. It's a new ride. Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!

emoticon Happy June!
emoticon Been away from SPARK for awhile due to life's busy chores.
In the last three weeks I have:
emoticon gardened, gardened, gardened. the rainy weather made the grass grow so much, I had 8 new rose bushes, annuals and perennials to fool with and weeds, weeds, weeds.
emoticon My Son graduated from high school and ALL the family came in. I did ALL the cooking for a whole week which meant groceries, cooking, cleaning, and starting all over again. Plus, the house needed to be in tip top shape. Have I made you tired yet?
emoticon Training for that marathon was a priority. I kept up with it and the big day is Sunday. 26.2 here I come. emoticon
emoticon SPent the last two weekends up at the cabin. Boy is there snow and no internet. Trying to fit in laundry and household while working during the week makes it hard.

Well is April is half over and I think over the last 15 days we have had everything from 70 degrees sunshine to 2 inches of snow on the ground. Yesterday was so blustery, I felt I was in the Hundred Acre Wood with hufflelumps and woozles.

So dear friends in honor of April, I present to you the following quotes:

emoticon emoticon Okay so I am high from a wonderful week. WHY?
1. I completed a lot of pending things at work.
2. It was spring break here and even though we work all year, I took some time off to garden.
3. My yard looks fantastic and now I am just waiting to plant things. I can start the hearty crops mid May but nothing I don't want to die before June 6. We get hail really bad in May.
4. I ran the fastest time trial 5k in 28:00 flat and then finished the run off with another 3.5 miles. Getting stronger with every run makes me high.
5. I have time for myself to just relax, read, and catch up on SPARK.

With that in mind, I hope you have been able to do at least 3 of those steps consistently. The three I was able to keep in the forefront this week were trusting my plan, never stop learning, and having fun.

emoticon Okay SPARK friends make April 1st a new starting point for a goal you really want to achieve. If you have been working on a goal since January 1st, you have been at it for three full months so be proud of yourself! emoticon

I love spring! emoticon The joy of planning my gardens .I love the first sign of the crocus, emoticon daffodil, and tulips pooping up, emoticon brushing away the dead and heavy cover to see the strawberries, chives,parsley and lavender emerge, emoticon the shoots of green buds on trees, emoticon and the robins returning, emoticon the morning sounds of the birds chirping. emoticon

Spring is a time of renewal. The weather gets warmer and the days grow longer allowing us time to get out doors and PLAY! Finding fun and exciting ways to enjoy the out of doors will invigorate and motivate you plus it changes your routine causing those pounds to drop. Try biking, rollerblading, trail hiking or geocaching. Play kick the can, skipping, or jump roping with the kids. Push strollers, walk dogs, climb fences. Join a league. Grow a garden. The possibilities are limitless.

Spring is a time of freshness. Start trying some new veggies and fruits. Drink lots of water. Give yourself a homemade facial or scrub your feet with an abrasive. Give your house a good cleaning. Get rid of the old.

Okay, hopefully I motivated you to make some fun changes and break up your routine a tad. Let me know what works for you! emoticon
