I have struggled with my weight most of my life. It's been like a never-ending yo-yo and let me say: I am starting to get a little "sea sick" due to the constant yo-yoing!
I have tried in the past to get my weight on track, and I did good for a while, but then something would happen and I would skid out of control. I have struggled with my weight most of my life. It's been like a never-ending yo-yo and let me say: I am starting to get a little "sea sick" due to the constant yo-yoing!
I have tried in the past to get my weight on track, and I did good for a while, but then something would happen and I would skid out of control. I stayed at a good weight through high school, and I was very active. The turning point there was getting into a relationship I should not have been in. And without going into any horrid details, after two years of emotional and physical abuse, I took a turn for the worst. I gained quite a bit of weight, but once I managed to get out of that relationship, and I had some time to recover, I got down to a comfortable weight of 210; which still wasn't good, but a lot better than before.
In 2002, I was in a car accident that left me temorarily disabled, and it was depression of losing my only brother and the accident that made me spiral out of control completely. And over the years, I would lose a few pounds, then gain them back....over and over and over. Before I even realized somehow, I was shocked to find that I was weighing in at almost 300 pounds! I managed to get it together enough to lose 40 pounds, but then, as life likes to do, it beat me down and I went back to comforting myself with food. And before long, I was back up to 280. (Luckily I didn't get back up to 300!) In February of this year, I decided to take control of my life once and for all. I had tried in the past many times, and failed miserably, but here I am, giving it another go.
And this time, I am actually doing it!
I faced things I didn't want to face, and finally stopped lying to myself, and that was something I had never done. I can't say that I am where I need to be by far, but I have come a long way in the past few months; farther than I ever dreamed I would! I have only managed to lose 10.5 pounds so far, but I still am proud of that. I am changing my eating habits, and struggling with the exercise part, but I'm not letting it keep me down.
I don't agonize over the things I fail at, instead I pride myself on the things I do right! And that in itself is shocking for me. Feeling proud of myself is something I had never truly felt, and it's the changes taking place inside of me that are making me succeed and I can't explain how that feels. There are no words for it. So even though I'm not shedding 10 pounds a month, this is so much better because this is the change I needed to have to get all the other things under control!

My Goals:
I want to get down to my total weight goal, which to me seems like an unreachable goal sometimes, considering how much I have to lose. However, I am trying to set my goals small and managable for me. I'd rather lose a few pounds at a time and keep it off than lose a bunch of weight quickly and gain it all back, plus some!

My Program:
Drink at least 8 bottles of water a day

Get up to walking at least 2 miles a day

Get my eating under control and choose healthy foods

Not be so hard on myself!

Personal Information:
My birthplace is Texas, but I grew up in Tennessee. Also spent many years in Pennslyvania. I am currently residing in Florida.

Other Information:
I am a DVD collector. I spend more money than I should on them, I guess. I have a wish list 8 miles long on Amazon.
I am a huge fan of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Nora Roberts, to name a few authors. Fortunately now I have much more time to read, and I am grateful for that. Reading has always been one of my favorite things to do.
I am also a Harry Potter fanatic, and now I can add Twilight to the list. Have read all the HP and Twilight books. Being as how I have so much more time now, I plan on reading them all again.

I'm cringing too! But yogurt and dill would be great to go with shrimp and carrots - separately, of course!

Glad to hear your doing alright, even if you have been pretty busy there. Not bad here, just hectic for now.
