On July 2, 2014, I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. After two major surgeries, a couple minor surgeries, chemo and radiation therapy, I am blessed to have no signs of cancer. As I go into 2016, I am grateful and determined. Exercise is hard. I get breathless easily and have little stamina. But I am determined to get my life back and, with the help of God I am believing I will. May you be blessed this coming year and if you are tempted to skip your cancer screenings or put them off, don't! Also, don't rely on your doctor to refer you. Educate yourself, take care of yourself, and ask for the preventative care you need. I was too passive about my health and I wish I could take it back but I can only start again.
Get back to a healthy body fat percentage. When I take care of my body and work out, i carry a high lean body weight, so it is OK to be a bit above on weight and BMI, but this fat has got to GO!
Picking up a dog in a few days-an energetic, friendly lab mix. Struggling not to adopt the purebred dumped by a breeder because she can't have more pups-we'll see how many dogs I wind up with!

Hi!! I think I wrote you,,,you should be fine to be a Dawggie for the Spring Challenge. We have another member who's going away at the end of May. We figured it out,,,she'll be fine,,so yes you will also be fine.
WOOOHOO you can look healthier for your trip!!! I eat very little junk food now. I've STOPPED doing the emotional eating. Did that by drinking a little water,,, than getting up,,, moving around a little,, often just going to another room is enough for me to ask. ,am I really hungry?? Often times I'm just wanting something. So I eat one to 3 pieces of hard candy. Takes care of it. I used to MOW down on chips!!! Have you done a search for a fatty heart?? It's awful!!! Dr Oz,,,which I don't watch,,was channel surfing,,, had 2 hearts. One was from a healthy person,,, the other one was from a person ate chips often. The chip heart was all yellow fat around it. As he showed them he said "this is a heart from a man who ate chips on a regular basis." At that moment I WAS eating chips!!! It was so NASTY!!! I stopped.
There are a gazillion ways to handle it to not eat from emotions. If this is a struggle,,,please let me know. I struggled with it for 5 years while improving my lifestyle. It's one the hardest to come to terms with.
