So, Ive been a little MIA and for good reason! Scott and I are expecting our first bundle on April 30! It was a surprise and, of course, when I look back at photos of the time around when I got pregnant I finally realize how good I looked! I have been keeping up wih working out and eating (mostly!) healthy. I haven't been running - I get way too winded- but have been keeping up w/ weight training and the FIRM and do 60 minutes or cardio (between the ellitical and walking on the TM) 3-4 days a week. As of my last doctor appointment (January 4th), I had gained about 10 pounds (according to the Dr scale), and was at 157. i'm hoping to stay at the lower end of the recommended range of 25-35 pounds.... but I've still got a long way to go!
I DID IT!!! I really did it! I ran 26.2 miles! I'm officially a marathon-er! I did what only 1% of 1% of people do! I finished in 4:42. A time I'm satisfied with t still leaves me hungry to try another one and beat it!
I ran the St Jude's Marathon in Memphis, TN on December 5, 2009. It is truly a day I will NEVER forget.
My sister ran the half marathon and was with me for the first 12 miles. In all honesty, there are some miles I don't even remember - It was all so surreal and sort of a blur now. Part of the race was through St. Judes campus and patients were actually outside all bundled up and cheering us on. It was such an amazing and rewarding experience.
The first 12 miles went great and then my sister split off to finish her half. From there on, I knew I was on my own but I also knew I wa REALLYgoing to do it! I kept a good pace and pain didn't really start creeping up until about mile 16 or so. I had taken some Ibuprofen around mile 12 and I know that was a big help. Starting at mile 18 I walked through every other water station. I hit my biggest 'wall' at mile 25 and literally approached one of the police officers blocking off the course and asked him to hold my wall and not give it to anyone else. Right at mile 26 the song "walking in Memphis" magically started playing on my iPod. I have a special place in my heart for St Judes (I was a Tri Delta and that was our charity) and Memphis (that was where I got my first job and bought my first house - my husband and I started out married lives there together!). I think I starting crying and laughing out loud at the same time!
I'm so proud to say I'm a marathoner!
Time is FLYING! I'm down over 20 poundcs since I started this journey a couple years ago. Let's face it..... this journey really started when I was about 16! At any rate, I'm on the right track. I lose VERY VERY slowly, but when it comes off it doesn't come back! I'm this-close to signing up for my first full marathon this fall..... deciding between Vegas and Memphis right now. I'm nervous but know that if I put my mind to it, I'll do it! After my half in March, I had health issues..... hip pain and plantar fascitis. But we're all good now and back on track!
Well, I finished the Little Rock Half Marathon and I'm already looking for when my next one will be! It was a great experience and something I didn't think my body was capable of just a few short months ago. I finished in 2:05:42 (chip time) and know that next time I WILL break the 2:00 mark! I was happy with my time (a 9:36 pace), espeically since it's only the 2nd race I've EVER done. No 5K or 10K prep races.... I went straight to a half marathon. But, now that I know I can do it, I want to see what else I can do!
3.15.2009 Little Rock Half Marathon!!!
Started training 12.29.08
Will be traveling to Little Rock, AR to do the Half Marathon with my 4 siblings!
Hi everyone. My name is Teresa and I am a fun loving 26 year old from MO. I love to have a good time and be the life of the party.
I have been happily married for almost 4 years already! Lost some weight doing the "wedding" diet but gained about 10 back. More importantly, I lost my 'fit' appearance. I would like to lose about 23 pounds. I do not ever remember a time when I was *100%* OK with my body. I feel I am in ther right mindset this time and motivated to do it. I am already more confident with my body since starting SP last fall.
I live a couple hours away from St. Louis and I am the biggest Cardinals fan (as you can tell). I cried when we won the world Series in '06! I remember watching Cards games as a little kid (I have 3 older brothers!) I also LOVE to exercise, shop, read, travel, play darts, make people laugh and go out on the weekends - which is my biggest struggle as I try to lose weight.
I work in admissions at the university I went to. I absolutely love my job. I get to travel to high schools and recruit students for my school. I am starting my MBA this summer.
Any q's... just ask!

To feel comfortable in my own skin - isn't that every woman's goal?! I'd like to be a comfortable size 6-8. Right now I'm stuck in an 8. A few 6's here and there but also a few 10's :( I have started eating 'cleaner' in the last couple months and have noticed some leaning out. Bikini season- here I come!
Cardio 6x a week
Weights 3-4x a week.
I use the FIRM dvd's for my weight training and some cardio. I do most of my cardio by running outside or at the gym (depending on the crazy weather and humidity here in MO!). During the week I try to do at least 3 AM workouts and 3 evening workouts, so I double up somedays. I workout on Saturdays and Sunday is my day to relax and get ready for the week ahead.
I am trying to stay between 1400-1700 cals a day and trying to drink more water. I have been slowly getting better at eating 'clean' and hoping it just becomes a habit soon. I recently upped my protein, too.
My name is Teresa Haney and I live in Southeast Missouri. I love it here. I live in my college town, work at my alma mater and too often I drink like I'm still in college! I love my job and I have the best hubby ever, my college sweetheart, Scott. We met at a frat party-so romantic!
I love girlie things like shopping, getting my nails done and tanning. But I ALSO love non-girlie things like playing poker, watching my Cardinals and Packer and learning sports trivia.
