Doing this right.

Sigh, it's been a year and I'm right back to where I've started. (My scale is a bit wonky, I know that I'm actually heavier than it says, but I'll use it as my reference point, which means that I start sparkpeople again at 183lbs). Again, I'm going to try to go slow and steady.
I'll be 26 in April, and I have a few goals that I wish to reach by then.
-eat healthy food and have a set meal plan
-exercise at least 4 times a week
-finish my thesis (over a year overdue!) ...

-get out more and experience life
-run 5k in May
-run 10k by the end of the summer
-run.....I started to train for a 5k run in rememberance of one of my best friends last year. I didn't end up racing b/c of an injury, but I hope to start running again this weekend. I hope to run at least 2 races in her name this year.

Life is hard, but also very precious. There are times when we just need to push through and try our best. I also know that it's often easier said then done.

I know that I can't control how much weight I gain or lose, as my body will determine that. What I can control is what I eat and how active I am.

I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life, and right now I'm looking forward to the rise of the next up. It's coming, I just have to go out and reach for it.

Thanks for all the tips. I've used AstroGlide before and it's pretty good. You can also wear the Spandex UNDER track pants if you are too shy too! That's what I've done. I love the learn to run programs... that's basically what C25K is!

Thanks for sharing your story about your friend. You are honoring her memory by running!
