Long story short, after battling obesity for my entire life I had RNY gastric bypass surgery in February of 2015 and have since lost 158.4 pounds. I am only 8.6 pounds from my surgeon's goal weight, and 13.6 pounds from my personal goal weight.

I chose to have surgery after years of battling and losing the fight against the disease of obesity. And if you don't think obesity is a disease then you need some serious schooling.

I am finally healthy, and happy, and fit thanks to my tool. And it was't the surgery that caused my 158.4 pound weight loss - it was my efforts along with the tool of a smaller tummy. Plenty have failed at losing weight after surgery - and that is because they didn't do the work. You HAVE to put in the effort even after surgery - even more so than before. Everything I put in my mouth has a consequence. I have a tiny tummy which means everything I eat MUST be nutritious. ALWAYS.

Bottom line - this surgery has worked for me because I put in the work. Every second of every day. It wasn't the "easy" way out - it was the ONLY way out for me. It was the ONLY way for me to take back my health. After years of being morbidly obese everything was out of whack and the only way to bring those things back to normal was to have the surgery - to reset everything inside of me. And I am grateful I was able to get educated enough to realize this - and take advantage of opportunity to live again.
