As happens to many, I have fallen off the healthy lifestyle bandwagon more times than I care to count. But this time I am more determined than ever before and am changing the way I live to be what I want it to be rather than what it has been for the last 25 years. This is definitely a life journey that has roadblocks and setbacks. But, I refuse to let the idea of permanent obesity rule me.... I am loving my new more-active lifestyle of exercising nearly every day and eating to live, rather than living to eat. I have a good start behind me and know that I have a long way to go, but I feel better and am happier than I have been in a long time. I look forward to seeing how far I can go!!!!

Fitness Minutes: 40,365

My Goals:
My main goal is to stay healthy and fit into the kinds of clothing that I like. However, I also want to be entergetic and active as well as a good role model for my three daughters.

My Program:
My program involved exercise at least 6 days per week. I am currently running and/or walking 4 miles, 3 X/week , I lift weights and then walk 2-3 miles, 3X/week. Now, due to the late sunrise, I am doing it all on treadmills at our Local YMCA. I am also eating eating a balanced diet with focus on fruits and vegetables. I allow myself my favorite foods, but in moderation.

Personal Information:
I am from upstate New York and have three very active, athletic daughters who run track and play soccer. My husband is a weight-lifter /former semi-pro football player who stays naturally in shape.

Other Information:
I spend most of my time supporting my children's athletic goals and helping them to reach them. I am just now starting to focus a bit more on myself.

    Thanks for your comment and advice on my blog entry. I will continue with my strength training as I think its advantageous for a diabetic like me to burn more calories via muscle.

    I will stay strong and limit my calorie intake. Thanks again for your advice!

    I'm so glad to see that you are still hanging in there too! I check in everyday just so I don't get out of the habit, I'm on a 211 day streak right now, but I don't do anything but spin the points wheel. I'm hoping to get going again with the Spark solution challenge starting next week. Great to hear from you, keep on going on!
