How many times do I start and stop this program? I can't even count how many times I have... but something in me has really changed. I have rid myself of a very toxic person in my life and NOW is the time for me. NOW is the time to accomplish something that has been a long time coming.
You can't build that all important stairway to heaven by just standing around with a hammer!
Here's a quirky survey to get to know me!
1) What side of the heart do you draw first?
Hm... I never realized it, but I draw the left side first! That's a fun thing to know!
2) Can you dive without plugging your nose?
Yup. My mom had me in the pool at 6 months! I grew up swimming and diving!
3) What color is your razor?
I buy the disposable ones, so they change every time I change my razor!
4) What is your blood-type?
I probably should know this... yet I know.
5) Who would you want to be tied to for 24 hours?
My mom... I don't know as much about her as I would like to. *Mental Note: Spend more time with mom!*
6) What is a rumor someone has spread about you?
That I had no soul- red head thing ;)
7) How do you feel about carrots?
I like them raw, but HATE them cooked. Weird, I know, but just how it is.
8) How many chairs at the dining room table?
I don't have a dining room table.
9) Which is the best Spice Girl?
10) Do you know what time it is?
10:07- I should be working!
11) Do you know all the words to the Fresh Prince Theme Song?
Of course I do!
12) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?
I am kind of afraid of tight spaces, so I might hyperventilate until I passed out.
14) True or False: All's fair in love and war?
15) Do you know how to use some words correctly, but not know the meaning?
Yes. That joys of court reporting!
16) Do you like to sleep?
Love it! Probably WAY too much. I don't believe that you can sleep when you are dead. I believe that you need to sleep every night!
17) Do you know which US states don't use Daylight Savings?
Nope- am I suppose to?
18) Do you know the song Total Eclipse of the Heart?
Yes, yes I do. Not my era, but I have an old soul.
19) Do you want a bright yellow '06 mustang?
Nope. I am not that flashy. I would like a 2010 Toyota Camry.
20) What's something you've always wanted?
21) Do you have hairy legs?
At the moment, yes. It is not my first priority.
22) Would you rather swim in the ocean or a lake?
23) Describe your hair.
Red, long, and VERY thick. I like it some days, but not every day.
24) Are you an adult?
When I have to be, but give me Rainbow Brite, popsicles, slippers, and a blanket and I am back in my childhood.

My two years on Spark have taught me to keep trying, no matter the circumstances. I learned that giving up is not an option - I tried it and ended up disgusted with myself and right back here again. I think the most important thing I’ve learned is that slipping off track does not define me as a “bad” person but only makes me want to prove that I can be the person I want to be. Today is my “first” day back on track after a streak of five days of “poor choices.” Reading the following quote helped bring me back:
“It doesn't matter if you try and try and try again, and fail. It does matter if you try and fail, and fail to try again.” ~ Charles Kettering

“Your life is the sum result of all the choices you make, both consciously and unconsciously. If you can control the process of choosing, you can take control of all aspects of your life. You can find the freedom that comes from being in charge of yourself.”
~ Robert Foster Bennett
That quote made me think back upon the choices I made in my “less than stellar” 2011. I made many of those choices without thinking about the consequences; made them in the “spur of the moment” without weighing the pros and cons. I tended to choose immediate gratification without thinking of my future and I’m paying for it now by dealing not only with a weight gain, but with reawakened medical issues!
I hope you’ll join me in taking control of making choices; being mindful eaters and exercisers; being “in charge of ourselves” and our lives! Let’s work together to stay focused, determined, positive, and strong as we make better choices that will have a lasting impact on our lives.!

I ran across the following quote and it made me stop and think about many of the aspects of my life. It seems like I’ve been conditioned to expect and accept less than the best for myself and from myself. I’m still working on trying to figure out exactly why that is, but I know it’s time to change!
Let’s continue making changes in our lives - expecting and accepting only the best we can do!
“Set your sights high, the higher the better. Expect the most wonderful things to happen, not in the future but right now. Realize that nothing is too good. Allow absolutely nothing to hamper you or hold you up in any way.” ~ Eileen Caddy
