Hi, I am heading my way to 40 sooner than I would like too, but plan to do so graciously and of course the healthy way. Over the last five years, thanks to a gastric bypass and strict compliance, I am no longer 240 pounds, and now would like to tone and just become more in touch with my body. I love the way I look and feel now, and never want to take that for granted again. This is my second chance at life, and I'm going to make the most of it. I opted to have the bypass for health concerns. At age 33 I had a stroke, and currently have Polycystic Kidney disease. I want to keep my kidneys functioning as long as possible, and that means eating right and adhearing to an excercise plan. I know it isn't easy. If it were, I never would have been severely overweight to begin with. I love who I am now, and just want to cherish that feeling and like I said, NEVER take it for granted again.
Best of luck to all.
My main goal is overall health, but my goal is to get toned and fit. I would like to reach 130 pounds, but if I never get there, its ok. I want to love me for me, and be proud of the accomplishments I have made so far!
I am working out at the gym. I am going to attempt yoga and swimming as a new goal! I am trying to limit caffeine and sugars etc.
I am married with three boys, 18, 14 and 6. I am a Registered Nurse, and love my profession. I live in the foothills of Northern California. I have lost 106 pounds since 2003. My motivation was not being able to fit on the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland. Talk about humiliation. My life is good. This is an amazing journey!
I love to read, so if you know of a good book, fill me in!
