I'm back again to do what I know works! Tracking food and exercise with Spark keeps me motivated like nothing else. It's been a long time since I felt this commitment.

My Goals:
My current goal is to get back on track with eating right and regular exercise.

I haven't reached my goal weight or gotten any closer than 20 pounds away since I joined Sparkpeople a long time ago. I know the program works so I'm BACK.

My Program:
To track what I've eaten every day. I have no forbidden foods.

I have found it easiest to have pretty much the same breakfast and lunch daily.

I alternate days of walking and cycling and try to do a minimum of two strength work outs per week.

My snacks should be vegetables, yogurt, or fruit. I plan to include a small amount of low fat protein with everything I eat. And, I plan to eat a small meal every 3 hours or so. I am a candy junkie, and I have to have something sweet every day. So, I use a small treat at the end of the day as a motivation to stick with my program all day.
I intend to follow this program for life. So, in my mind it is critical that I don't deny myself anything I really want.

Personal Information:
I live in a small town just across the river from Pittsburgh. I love being in the city though I have a longer commute than I was used to. I enjoy strategic board games, spiritual pursuits, theater, museums, travel and lots outdoor activities - mostly with my partner. We live with her Dad.
I attend a lot of alternative type music concerts with my daughter. Some bands I like and some - not so much.

Other Information:
I love to read. I'm a Unitarian Druid Buddhist.

I try to meditate every day and am working at living a mindful life. I don't have a church right now. My partner and I are working with a newly formed women's wisdom circle.

    All good here. I lost my best friend Cole, 2 years now. As he is still always with me, I have made room for Basil, our new standard, again on the small side and adopted my daughter's friend's Bichon who couldn't take him with her, named Olaf. I believe Cole guided us to them both. He shows up in both of them to let me know he is watching over me still. emoticon
