Tracy's Weight Loss Journey
I started out try to lose in December 2008. After almost 10 long months, I lost 70 pounds going from 227 to 157. I'm 5'8 so that was a nice healthy weight for me. My original goal with this was to lose the weight to feel better about myself and be a positive role model for my children. A painful divorce battle began in December 2010. I lost sight of my original goal and ended up climbing back up to 183, gaining back 25 pounds of the inital weight lost. The biggest reason for this ...
The biggest reason for this gain is due to the fact that my ex husband assaulted me in June 2011. This assault left me with a permanent nerve disorder - Trigeminal Neuralgia and TMJ in the left side of my face. I was initally unable to eat anything that required chewing. After finally getting my diagnosis of Trigeminal Neuralgia from the Neurologist and started on the right medication, I was able to eat foods that I had been unable to eat in over 3 months. I went on an eating binge, eating all of the things that I had been unable to eat. Thinking the time would come again that I wouldn't be able to eat chicken, chips, crunchy cereal, and slowly I put the weight back on. On April 21, 2012 I decided it was time to hold myself accountable and reign it all back in. Starting weight is 183 and my goal is to complete the weight loss journey into maintenance is in the 147-152 pound range. My goal will be more on focusing on healthy eating long term, incorporating cardio and strength training four times per week. Instead of obsessing over a bad week on the scale, I'm going to focus on how my clothes feel, how my body looks, and the long term success. There will be minor set backs but I will FINALLY learn how to make this a life long change. I re-entered the road race scene in July 2012. I have several races coming up this summer fall that I am really looking forward to. I am going to put up the stats and goals of those races in a seperate blog entry.

My Program:
I am running 3-4 miles every other day of the week when I am not working on following the Half Marathon Training Program. I would like to increase my mileage to 5 miles every other day and 2 days of 1/2 hour strength training sessions.
Personal Information:
I am originally from Montana. Relocated to the East Coast in 1995 and have been here ever since. I love NY and think this is an awesome place to be! I am a single mom of 2 kids who are the love of my life. I am a huge fan of almost all types of exercise, but specifically love running. My dad is a runner and is my greatest source of inspiration. He has run too many races including several marathons. When I get tired or want to stop, I think of him yelling - KEEP GOING!!!!
Other Information:
I love hot summer sun and am a beach girl. Nothing like have a group of friends over for a summer BBQ and enjoying the lazy days! The only time I love cold weather is when it comes to running! :) When I'm not at work, I love to cook, read, run, spend time with my family, travel, shop, and spend time with my friends.
