Thanks so much! And you are looking fabulous yourself, congrats on all you've accomplished so far!
My turning point was Dec. 2, 2008 when I ran into someone I hadn't seen in 3 years while on a cruise and she said she barely recognized me because I'd gained so much weight. That was my "Aha!" moment. I started exercising and eating right on the cruise and by Sept. 2009 I had gone from Size 14 to 4.
I started out doing full body strength training 3x a week and cardio 5-6 days a week, with running being my main form of cardio, which I did 4 days a week. I signed up for a 15k race as soon as I got back from the cruise. I enjoy both running and lifting weights.
I know you can reach your goal, you're well on your way!!! - Tia
You're very welcome. I was in classes for six years and it never dawned on me to become an instructor. I did so last year and it has been really interesting - your brain works as hard as your body!
There is the possiblity of subbing for instructors for one thing. Also, you could be creative about spaces where you might have a class. I have two classes at a community center and two at a church. Large churches seem to be the "new" place to have them. Be sure to go over to the Spark Zumba Instructors team and read some of the threads. I learned so much from them and it's a really nice group of people - not competitive, just supportive.
I have no idea what happened to Golden Balloon - she seems to have just disappeared :(. I wrote Sherry about it last week and she didn't know anything about it either. I have to say that GB is probably the last person I would have expected to disappear on us without a fond adieu.
CONGRATS on the 5K and the PR!!!!!
I'm still plugging away at my C25K training program. I hit a major snag with overtraining (AGAIN!!! I am finally learning that I can't do cardio 7 days a week. I must take 1 day off.) and trying to transition from treadmill to asphalt at the same time.
I'm back on the treadmill and running more than I am walking - woo hoo. But I am not going all that fast (4.7 mph). It is still massive improvement so I am feeling pretty proud about it. I'm looking into a couple 5K events on May 19th.
