NEW INTRODUCTION: It's been almost seven years since I joined SPARKPEOPLE and I'm attempting to make a comeback, after gaining back ALL of the weight I've lost, it's time for me to do SOMETHING! So after being married for five years and having two babies in eighteen months, I have definitely been putting myself last on my list of priorities. But now it's time to make some changes for them and for me...so I can be the active mommy and wife I long to be and start treating this God given temple ...

I'm not making any promises...I just want to stop making excuses and start this journey once again...someway, somehow!! So here we go! Lord, HELP!!
OLD INTRODUCTION:Hello Spark Family!! I found Spark in March 2007 and I'm so glad I did. The motivation and encouragment I've received on this site has been phenomenal. I was 278 Ibs at my heaviest weight in January 2006. In January of 2007, weighing in at 267.7lbs, I decided that this was it. I was ready to seriously make some changes in the way I treated my body. In March of 2007, I joined the Spark family. By March of 2008, I had gotten down to 189lbs.... a 78 lb loss! Since then, I've have picked up my old eating habits and gave myself too much wiggle room in my diet. Now after being on "Wedding Hiatus" (including FIVE wedding showers, 2 receptions, and TONS of cake), the dust has settled, I'm happily married, and ready to go again!! So here I am, ready to shake the dust off, pick myself up, and keep moving toward my ultimate goal: a 100lb loss! I can't change yesterday.....today is what counts! God has truly blessed me on this journey and I want to honor the commitment I made to Him and to myself. I've looked around and everyone is doing great...you all have motivated me to keep it going!
Update: (9/10/2009). I'm finally realizing why I started this journey in the first place. It wasn't to fit into a particular size or to see a certain number on the scale....those were added bonuses. It was to see my health improve and to feel stronger and more fit. I keep asking myself, "Why is it so much harder now?" Maybe it's because my focus has been on things that can't help me to sustain this. It's time to take it allll the way back to the basics and keep the main thing the MAIN THING!!
Update: (10/28/2009). I joined Weight Watchers a week ago and so far, I've lost almost 5 lbs. I needed the extra accountability so I went ahead and took the plunge. I love Spark, but I found that when I've gained weight, I would avoid the website and not update my tracker, but having someone weigh me in every week will hopefully help.

1. Get moving! 30 minutes a day, 3x a week
2. Strength Train 2-3 days a week
4. Get more rest! (yeah, right)
5. Drink more water!!
6. Continue to enjoy this journey!!

My exercise program:
Walking on nice days, workout videos on indoor days
Eating: 8 glasses H20 daily, watching portion sizes, eating fruits/veggies at every meal, drinking more milk, limiting fried foods, no carbs (other than fruits and veggies) after 6pm
Other Help: Joining this website, reading articles on nutrition, talking to my SPARK buddies, and lots of prayer!!
I'm work part-time as a Speech Pathologist. I am the mommy of two beautiful young daughters and step-mommy to a sassy preteen daughter! I'm married to a wonderful man who is also a teacher.
I'm 5'8 inches tall. My main hobbies are spending time with my family, shopping, and traveling...even if it's just to the grocery store! Anything to get out of the house!!
