Skinny Tonia Returns!

Hi, I'm Tonia. I was skinny all my life and never worried about what I ate or about exercising. Obviously that didn't last forever. Now I'm about 30 pounds over weight and have very little energy. My mom, sister and aunt all joined SparkPeople so I thought I would give it a try as well. Wish me luck - I'll need a lot of encouragement to stick with it.

My Goals:
My goals are to find an exercise program I will stick with, lose some weight and gain more energy.

My Program:
I definitely will need to start slowly to make the changes stick. Small changes in diet and exercise habits will work best for me. Walking the dog with my boyfriend is as much exercise as I can handle at this point.

Personal Information:
I'm 36 years old and live in Minnesota. My job working with at-risk youth can be very stressful. I use food to reduce my stress level.

Here's a tip from Oprah and her trainer that I eat:

Wasa Rye Crisp cracker
Little mayo (I use soy mayo)
Little Dijon Mustard
Bit of deli turkey
Tomato slice on top
Add a bit of basil as well.

Tasty...........

Mick

Found a healthy snack for when I'm craving CHEESE...thought I'd share since I know how much you love cheese!

Laughing Cow light cheese spread on some Wasa Rye Crisp crackers. I don't recommend eating the crackers alone, but with the cheese spread on them they are great. Absolutely delicious and guilt free...so try it out!

Bill and I are also finding Stir Fry to be a good dinner choice because it's super fast and very healthy. Sautee some chicken pieces up in light oil, then just added a frozen bag of "stir fry medley" veggies. At the very end I added some Teriyaki marinate...check out the marinades at the grocery store, there are some healthy ones. We used one by Lawry's and it was pretty good.

Later!

How exciting.........your here with us! Good for you.

It will be hard, it will be slow going. But it will be worth it. And as active as Bob is, just try and keep up with him and you will do fine!!!

Love,
mom/mick
