Finding Myself

I'm a happily married woman over 50. My husband loves me as I am, but I'm less than thrilled with the extra pounds -- and neither is my doctor.

My goal is to get my mom (who lives with us), my husband myself all on the same healthy eating and moving page. We need to all three of us do it or we end up foiling the plans of the other two. My husband is the best at setting and reaching goals and neither my mom nor I are big fans of exercising. I love to go for long walks and hope to ...

My husband is the best at setting and reaching goals and neither my mom nor I are big fans of exercising. I love to go for long walks and hope to be able to start that again, soon. I also want to start yoga classes when I finish the therapy for my back. That is something maybe I can encourage my mom to do (and maybe my sister).

I love to read and love/hate to write and I spend a lot of time doing both here on my computer. In the summer I will be doing some gardening, but I don't really do enough to call it exercise most of the time. I watch about seven hours of TV a week. I also like to do a little craft sewing and occasional cross stitch.

hi ,thanks for the info.that is what i do.just worked out what i was doing wrong.if one of the emails had a recipe on it,i would have a look at it and look at others while i was there.they did'nt have a add to meal planner box so could'nt add them.i realised today it was because i was'nt logged on to sp emoticon

hi thanks for reading my blog,and your advice. you mentioned about getting down in the winter ,i think you might have "sad".seasonal affected disorder.like you i think i might have to give in and get something from the doctor,i have been trying to avoid it for years.thanks for your offer of being there for me i do appreciate it emoticon emoticon val

hi thanks for the information on beans.i asked because when you check out food information on sparkpeople it tells you about how much iron or cholestrol ect.also about treadmills,i could'nt use a manual one either, i deffinatly want an electic one.i don't normaly buy second hand because i have been unlucky in the past.it's taken me ages to type this out ,so many mistakes,my fingers are'nt working properly emoticon val

We are about 5 minutes by car to the bay and 15 to the ocean. All Beaches in New Jersey you have to pay for in the summer but in the off season you can go for nothing, We are the only state that charges people to use the beach. I think is is ridicules but we are known for out clean beaches. Hugs Diane
