sugar-free vegan. goshhhhhh, i wish i had that kind of willpower. so far i've been able to cut out all dairy, meat, caffeine, alcohol and even chocolate (allergy reasons) but i can NOT give up sweets. i will do almost anything (almost) for cookies. how do you resist?

oh! and your pic of your bike in beijing brought back so many warm memories of my year in japan. that was my ride! the granny bicycles with the hip basket and ever-so awesome bell! did you live there or were you only visiting?

hello tofupup - I haven't seen you around for a while...or maybe it's just the new profile picture that has thrown me off. Either way it's great to see you again. I love the wedding pictures, and the profile picture - very nice. gail

Congrats on running your first Marathon!
My first Marathon didn't go as I'd planned either but it was an unforgettable experinence nevertheless. Stick with it and they'll get better. Don't you just love running skirts? I can't imagine ever running in shorts again. You look great and congrats again on your Marathon achievement!

tofupup - best of luck with the run for the cure. my mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer almost 3 years ago. She is a very resilient women and is presently cancer free. I also have another friend how is presently in the hospital and just under went surgery on tuesday to remove a cancer lump (this wasn't breast cancer). It's wonderful what your are doing, you are helping my friends as you celebrate your mother-in-law's health, thank you. Gail
