To be successful, you don't have to always make perfect decisions and have perfect days where things go exactly as you planned. If you eat more or exercise less than you wanted to one day, you can make up for it over the next several days if you want, or you can just chalk it up to experience and move on. Remind yourself that what happens on any one day is not going to make or break your whole effort. This is not a contest or a race, where every little misstep could mean the difference between winning and losing. It’s your life—and you’ll enjoy it a lot more when you can keep the daily ups and downs of your eating and exercise routine in perspective. In the last year and a half I have gained a sad 45 pounds, Yukies I know! I still can't get over how much I gained. Ok, give or take a pound. This is the heaviest I have even been but the only person I am going to admit that to, is myself and you. I am making a life change to eat healthier and exercise on a regular basis. I think minimum 3x a week is a good start 30 - 60 mins will work just fine. I have to do this because Now IS the time to lose the weight. It all start with Change; May we all find a way to accept the changes in our lives and learn to embrace them!!! May we learn to take control of our lives and make the changes necessary to make our journeys successful. And most of all, may we find comfort in knowing that change is really a chance to experience new things and find happiness in hidden areas we had never dreamt of before! So, I thought as 2009 starts, I would to write them all down on here. #1: Start counting calories with Sparkpeople - DONE! (Jan 19 09) #2: Start the scale moving in the right direction - DONE! (Jan 9 09) #3: Join a fitness class - DONE! Aquafit class(Jan 09) #4 Drink half my body weight a day in water which makes 12 cups a day of water a day a habit- DONE! (Jan 20 09) #5: Join a Gym - DONE (Feb 7, 09) #6:Workout 3x a week my routine - Done June 18, 09) #7: Workout 5x a week my routine - #8: Weigh is my low 160's by Aug 20 09 - Didn't come close #9: To save money to travel - DONE! Nov 6 $430.00 #10: REFOCUSE -- Nov 1, 09 NEW TEAM MOTTO FOR RITA'S RETREAT SUMS IT ALL UP: In order to move past your mistakes you have to keep pushing yourself forward. The only person who is still beating you up over what you did is you and it's time to move on. You are not perfect, that's no mystery. But no one else is either. Set a goal today. Hold yourself to a high standard and force yourself to rise to your own expectations. Give yourself an emotional hug and start focusing on the future. You've learned from where you've been.
