Hi! Long time since I've been here, but hopefully I will be here more often. I began this journey a while back, but I haven't updated my progress in a long time. I have lost 28 pounds since May 2013, but still have a lot to go. I am following Wheat Belly way of eating and have gone off diet drinks since August. I am loving the changes I see and can't wait to see what changes are in store. I feel better than I did with my previous way of eating. I don't have the miserable bloating I always had before I came off wheat and other grains and my diet drinks. I have more energy than I've had in many many years. I give my daughter credit for encouraging me to get on this new health plan. I saw such a difference in her. She is following the Paleo way of eating and is off wheat, too. There is still so much to learn about foods I can eat and new recipes, but I am on the way to becoming a new me!
1. Get healthy.
2. Exercise 20 minutes three to four times a week.
3. Get stronger.
4. Change my attitude toward food.
5. Eat and exercise to live.
6. Lose excess weight.
7. Live longer.
1. Drink at least 8 8 oz. glasses of water per day.
2. Cut carbohydrates to a minimum.
3. Exercise using Wii Fit Plus and walking and track it on Spark.
4.Track what I eat on Spark.
5. Not rely on scale readings, but on how I feel and look.
6. Love myself enough to work to reach my goals.
7. Read Bible daily for strength.
I am from Alabama.
I'm 55 years old. I have been married for 35 years. I have two beautiful children, a great son-in-law, and a precious grandson. I also have a beautiful daughter-in-law. I am a Christian and will lean on God to help me on my journey. Phil. 4:13 says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

The Gift Of Knowing You
There are gifts of many treasures
For both the young and old,
From the tiniest little trinkets
To great boxes filled with gold.

Sadness, grief, or even doubt,
When all those things you planned on

Just dropping by with a "howdy". Hope your week got off to a good start. With February around the corner it's a good time to think about "HEART" health. Take time to work some cardio into your week and make those healthy food choices!
