Redemption's Song

I am a 45 year old Christian, married for 23 years, with 2 sons ages 19 and 17. I teach choral music at a middle school in Southeastern Michigan. I have lost 72 pounds. I started my weightloss journey 10 years ago after the passing of my mother. I have gained and lost more weight than I care to remember. In July 2009 I was 6 pounds from being at my all time high. At that time a visit to my doctor revealed both my cholesterol and my blood pressure were too high and my thyroid was boarderline low. In March of 2010 I reached my goal weight of 135lbs. My cholesterol, blood pressure, and thyroid are all in normal ranges without having to take medicine. I am eating healthier than ever before and most importantly I have realized that in order to truly be healthy I need to be physically active and fit. It truly is diet AND exercise that has helped me keep my weight at goal weight since March 2010. I am for the first time in my life feel strong and athletic. The biggest change however has been in my own understanding of myself. For the longest time I thought I had been 'reinventing' myself, but through this process I have realized that this strong, athletic person has been there all along and that I was not truly being all that I could be because I was making excuses in many areas of my life! NO MORE EXCUSES! You CAN accomplish ANYTHING you truly set your mind too!

My page is call "Redemption's Song" because my physical body has been "bought back!" Diet and exercise shows that mercy is offered to those willing to change the way they live. My soul has been "bought back" throught the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, my body, by the grace of God and His mercy, has been bought back through changes in diet and exercise.

I sing because I am thankful for God's redemptive work in my life!

You are looking really good! Saw your picture of the whole note and had to come see more pictures of your progress. I did a 5K with my son this summer. I mostly walked it, but hope one day to mostly run one.
Keep up the good work. You're an inspiration!

hey girl! how are you doing? I'm sorry I haven't been on the site for a while, it's been crazy busy at my house hold, sick kids and sports has started up! Trying to date while single with 2 kids is hard and with their dad living an hour an a half away. But we are strong and can do it! We all have struggles but keep on trucking! emoticon
