It feels great to be joining this site and aligning myself with the commitment of taking my dreams seriously.

I have a weight loss goal of 50 lbs over the next 7 1/2 months. I lost 70 lbs and kept if off since 2003, but after finishing my first year of med school, and sustaining an injury, i've gained 20lbs back. I'm now at 170 and hope to get down to a weight of 120 and sustain. I'll be very happy reaching 130 and staying there, if that seems the best fit for my body type, but my healthiest weight has been 120 and so i'd like to see how i feel once i'm at least 10 lbs shy of that goal. If it feels still a healthy weight, then i will continue to that goal. If not i will reasses things in May. By July 4th, it is my goal to reach my target weight and, most importantly, to FEEL healthy and beautiful.

I would love to help be a support and an encouraging force and i certainly welcome the same. It would be great to have help in remaining accountable to opening up to life rather than continuing to avoid it through food.

There is much i have yet to see and do in life and i do not want to give in now to the humdrum that says we have to accept the middle age spread and all the bells and whistles that come with aging. I'm not going down without a fight!
