Making a Difference

Hi, I am a 44 year old single mom. I do alot for my family, but little for myself. My goal is to start doing good things for myself. Another one of my goals is to be able to participate in a 5K run next summer.

UPDATE: May 4, 2009
I am still a 44 year old single mom. I have made wonderful changes in the last 9 months while on SparkPeople. Now I do alot for myself and for my family. I make the time to make a difference in my life. I have lost 26 pounds and 14 1/2 inches. All with diet and exercise. I am registered for the 5K and I am training to be a runner.

UPDATE: May 18, 2009
lost 26 pounds and 22 1/4 inches- it has to be the running!

MY ADVICE: Stay positive and try your best. Never look back with regret about anything... keep looking to your goals.

My Goals:
I only have one goal...
It is simple, Get healthy!

In my quest for a healthy lifestyle I will acquire many other things both physical and mental.

I will lose weight and gain self esteem.

My Program:
My program is healthy eating and exercise.

I started out very slowly learning the Spark website, and walking, and spent alot of time reading articles and label reading in the grocery store.

Now I eat more healthy and enjoy exercise class.
I plan to work up to a 5K next summer.

Hey Tracy...how are you? I am trying my best to stick with it...starting a running program again...I don't think I'll be doing the 5K or the half marathon this year, though!

Hey Tracy...how are you doing? I am finally getting back to the program here, after taking most of the summer off (unfortunately). I have been out of the running program for so long I'm afraid I'm going to have to start from scratch...but better than doing nothing, right? I just wanted to see how you have been doing...hope all is well!
