Hi! I'm on here to get healthy, lose weight, and get in shape. I needed motivation other than just wanting to. I want to get married and have kids and feel like my weight is a barrier to those dreams. My sister is 12 years younger and engaged. She asked me to be her maid of honor! I have 1 year to look great in a dress to stand up for her at her wedding.

UPDATE: My sister's wedding was June 6th (2010) and I reached my goal the Saturday before. I'm now working on maintaining. The wedding was wonderful...I was able to wear a strapless dress! All my hard work paid off when I was able to wear a new dress for rehearsal and the bridesmaids dress and hear everyone's shock and compliments about my weight loss. It was probably the proudest day of my life.

I've promised myself to not ever forget where I've been (weight-wise) and to also never go back there!!! I've learned so much about myself and how to live a healthy lifestyle. The future has never looked brighter and I've never been happier!!! MANY, MANY THANKS TO SPARKPEOPLE AND MY SPARK FRIENDS!!!

My Goals:
Lose 100 lbs to get to 155 by June 2009

Shop in the same "normal size" stores as my friends

Wrap a standard towel around me

Stop worrying about weight limits on flights/activities

Look good and fit

My Program:
I swim 30 minutes on MWF. I also run at least 2 miles on Tues/Thurs and if I can fit in a run on the weekends, that's a bonus. I play on a competitive volleyball team as a "fun" weekly workout that is about an hour and is in addition to my regular workouts.

I've been in a dry run for the last four months. I've been ping-ponging in within the same 8 pounds because I just haven't been fully committed to eating correctly. My target (to get down more than 100 pounds) just seems unattainable. Seeing your page and seeing your successes gives me motivation to get back on the horse and just do it. Thanks!
