Always pursuing progress...

Yoga has been a beacon of light for my health journey, and I hope to add to the motivation of my students as well. I am an Ashtanga Vinyasa/Freestyle Hatha and Adamantine Yoga registered instructor, as well as a Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga instructor.

I have hypothyroidism, asthma, and a wonky knee, but love to Nordic Walk, dance, bike, play basketball, and do a lot of yoga. I prefer to move than count every last calorie, but I've come to understand that full mind/body awareness ...

My Goals:
-Continue my weight loss journey with careful nutrition monitoring and consistant exercise.

-Add to the inspiration of my chair yoga and Nordic Walking students.

-Train for the bike relay portion of the June 2010 triathlon.

My Program:
-Roughly 1,300-1,600 daily calories. Lean protein such as fish, chicken and beans, a lot of veggies and fruits.

-Cardio 4-5 times per week, alternating between 45-minute sessions and 20-30 minute sessions.

-Strength training 2xweek alone - kettlebells a strong focus - and 2xmonth with a trainer.

Personal Information:
I live in Des Moines, IA - married, no children, work full time. Messaging through SP is okay.

Other Information:
Love to read, ride bike, cook, go to movies, travel, garden and spend time with family/friends.

Joanne, you're so right! There's always at least one more snow wallop around the b-ball tourney! Too funny!

Thanks for the interest in chair yoga - I do love teaching it. I'll post some stuff about it soon.
