I joined Spark People over two years ago but did not stick with it. After I quit, I even gained an additional 15 pounds. I started again in September and have lost the extra 15 pounds since then, so I am back where I started in 2012. I've not been very good with keeping up my trackers, but I'm making much healthier food choices and am more physically active. I'm losing the weight slowly now (15 lbs in 3 months) but I think that is good because I really believe I am making lifelong changes ...

I'm losing the weight slowly now (15 lbs in 3 months) but I think that is good because I really believe I am making lifelong changes to my eating habits instead of "going on a diet".

The thing that really brought me back to Spark People was when I tried to buy a dress for my friend's daughter's wedding. Everything I tried on looked horrible on me. I was nearly in tears in the store dressing room. I finally found a dress online that was flattering but it was a jacket style dress that was much more matronly than what I had hoped to pick out. I felt like a fat old lady. I felt even worse at the wedding when I realized that my friend (the mother of the bride) was the same size she was when I met her over 30 years ago and looked just beautiful. She and I once wore the same size clothes. It's not that I feel I need to compete with her but it was my real wake up moment when I realized how far I had let myself go. More importantly, I need to be healthy.

Track my nutrition an fitness activities on the spark people tracker every day.

Drink more water and control portions of foods.

Excersize at least 4 times a week.

I am married with two sons (ages 16 & 18) and live in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Other Information:
I enjoy reading, surfing the net and bowling.

Want to start walking more and other more "active" past times.

Reading is great but doesn't burn many calories. I need to get moving.
