new summer=REnewed goals

so, after losing 12 pounds last summer, i went back to school. although i worked out regularly, and made so much progress with strength training, i slacked with cardio.
in addition, i snacked mindlessly, had sodium-stuffed meals (yay dining hall?), poor portion control, and (after a LENT without sweets) candy and ice cream galore. don't get me started on the boooooozee...

all that together put back 5 pounds of pretty much pure fat (my body fat percentage raised about 2% ...

all that together put back 5 pounds of pretty much pure fat (my body fat percentage raised about 2% between september and may--and the gym's tool can be off up to 5%!!!). i'm trying to lose that and then some. i feel like i have the experience to really get to my ultimate goal of 115 if i really put my mind to it.

WHAT STARTED ME ON SPARK:

There once was a girl,
A mostly lucky girl,
A somewhat lovely girl
BUT her cheeks were too fat.
And her uncles and aunts
And a boy she *loved* once
Without tact or conscience
Would remind her of that.

So she ate less at supper
And puberty helped her
By stretching her out
And giving her some curves.
And for a while, it was fine
And the boys weren't unkind
And the scale didn't rise
So she felt reassured.

But then she met this guy
Who could eat what he liked,
And she forgot the word *diet*
When with her sweetie-pie.
Her schedule began to fill
No PE, few homemade meals,
She began to look and feel
Insecure, and so she tried

To swim, to run, to eat less
(At times, she was SO obsessed)
She'd lose a little, then gain back
And each try crashed and burned.
Five pounds turned into ten,
She tried feeling *hot* again,
Her boyfriend helped, but then
Their relationship turned.

She ate for consolation,
And sometimes entertainment,
And sometimes just because
She had no one to impress.
Another five turned into eight
As she wallowed, slept and ate.
In four years, she'd gained eighteen
pounds BEFORE college, no less!

Her first year, she succeeded
In not gaining more, AND beating
At least three or four pounds that
Had her borderline overweight.
But by spring, she'd started drinking
And being more lax with her eating
And by summer, she realized that
She REALLY needed change.

So she bought some DVDs,
Started counting calories,
Made some friends online to keep
Herself going, good and strong.
She increased her exercise,
Added running and pilates,
Gained a much more balanced diet
And then, before too long

She lost five, ten, almost fifteen,
And gained brand new abilities
Like running over six miles straight
And improved flexibility!
What took all of high school to gain,
Was undone (and then some) in
Just three months--who would have
Guessed the probability?

She still has some ways to go,
But deep inside herself, she knows
That ALREADY she has come so
Far from what she used to be:
Pained, from insecurity,
And letting others make her think
That she was any less for being
A girl with chubby cheeks!

***basically, try not to do the same thing two days in a row. burn at least 300 calories, go for at least 30 minutes, and do 15 minutes of abs in addition***

Hey lady! you are looking FINE these days! Keep it up, girl! I qwas just thinking about you. i don't think either of us are very big sparker anymore :( so sad. I like logging my food of Livestrong.com now instead because their database is bigger.

What's new with you?? Guess what I'm doing?!? I think I'm gonna become a big fat fitness instructor! LOL I'm getting CPR certified on the 21st of this month.
