This has been an extensive journey of personal and physical growth, revealing of the ways in which our society and the health industry operate by exploiting shame. I have unfortunately perpetuated this in probably the majority of my blog posts. For now they remain as they are, unedited, because that was who I was at the time. Proceed with caution.

Luckily I have learned how to end the shame cycle and now I am just working to continue to love myself and continue to practice plenty of self care in all the forms that can take.

Current goal: make exercise a regular self care habit.

Personal mantra: You can do ANYTHING for 30 seconds.

Nice to meet you today! I am glad I said something, and sorry I didn't chat a little more, but we were on our way out.

Yes, one episode of "Obsessed" featured a woman who had been in beauty pageants as a child and she pulled her hair out & it did say she'd bite the roots. I felt sorry for the girl who stood for six hours at the mirror and picked her face with tweezers. At least, those who spend six hours cleaning have a clean house, rather than a face full of sores. emoticon Many of them had abuse as children.

Orthorexia, is interesting. I remember seeing a program maybe on 20/20 about a teen boy with the issue who was so thin as he couldn't find foods healthy enough to eat once he started reading up on every single food.

Hope your absences means it is all just second nature now. Life is bigger than food and weight! So nice when it's a pleasant piece of the puzzle.

Hi Tina! I know that you're not as active around here as much as you used to be, but I just saw the announcement about your four-year maintenance anniversary and wanted to stop by to congratulate you and to see how things are going on your end. I hope you're doing well and that the new year is off to a great start for you. I wish you all the happiness in the world for the year ahead.
