Yes, I'm as stuck-up as I look! Don't I look good in pink??

I just TRY to look bad -- I'm the biggest sweetie around!

It's time to take control of my life! I'm over 55 now and realizing how much abuse I've done to my body -- it's time to get serious and change my course!

My Goals:
My overall goal is to get healthy! I've been in denial for so long that it's to the point where I either turn around the damage I've done so far to myself by being overweight and not eating healthy, or I won't be around to enjoy my grandson! My diabetes recently became uncontrollable, so I chose Gastric Bypass Surgery as a tool to help me get this body under control!

My Program:
Two things need to change in my life: I need to eat healthy, balanced meals, and I need to get up and move this body! So my program will consist of following a good eating plan, and introducing more movement into what's become a very sedentary lifestyle. Sounds like lots of work, but I've got the time, and if I don't do it now, I won't be around later to wish I had! So, no time like the present!

Personal Information:
I'm 55 years old and I have three grown children (30-35). My daughter is married with a 7 year old, and she is currently in the Air Force, serving our country while being stationed in New Mexico. Neither of my boys have been married, so for now I just have the one grandson to spoil! With the kids gone, the house has been taken over by dogs -- 5 of them! The last two I acquired are the sweetest mutts I've ever owned -- they were left at a refuge by an elderly couple who could no longer keep them since the husband came down with Alzheimers. My heart broke when I heard the story, and headed out to pick them up -- it's been a very rewarding life since they joined our pack (and yes, I am THE pack leader!! ) My husband lost his hand in a work-related accident almost 6 years ago, so it's just the two of us at home now, enjoying the second generation of "kids" we're raising!
