Hi, my name is Tina. I was introduced to this site by my nutritionist and so far, I like what I see.
A little about me you ask? Great! I'll tell you! I am 28 years of age and am obese (I know, awful word but hey sometimes the truth hurts). My biggest weight was 338 pounds and when I started this journey on March 2nd due to my two night stay at a hospital for heart attack symptoms (which eventually turned out to be panic attacks), I was 318 pounds. Lying there, not knowing whether I would totally be ok, I knew right then and there I had to change my life all the way around: physically, emotionally, and mentally. There is no way I could do this alone and so far I have employed everyone I could to help me in those areas. SparkPeople has been the missing link, giving me an opportunity to blog about my experiences and to meet others who are in the same boat as me.
Other than that, I am a full-time housewife of a sailor. My husband's name is Michael and he is my best friend and partner in crime (so funny, since he is an MA in the US Navy). We have no kids because of my weight (which will change by this time next year: 2011), but we have a dog named Lesko (my husband's former partner) and a cat named Primeau. They are a handful, especially since they don't get along but both are very lovable.
Well, that's me in a nutshell! My goals are to lose weight, start having children and enjoy life to its fullest! Hopefully, by the end of this year, I will be fit and fabulously healthy enough to do so. This is my goal.
My starting weight was 318 lbs. My goal is to be 150 lbs by my 30th birthday which is July 24, 2011! Gotta get it!!
I took out sugar, dairy, eggs, red/pork meat, made my diet very low sodium (1000-1500 mg per day) and I no longer eat anything that was not cooked by my hands. I also exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes with my light day being Sunday.
