Hi, my name is Tina. I was introduced to this site by my nutritionist and so far, I like what I see.

A little about me you ask? Great! I'll tell you! I am 28 years of age and am obese (I know, awful word but hey sometimes the truth hurts). My biggest weight was 338 pounds and when I started this journey on March 2nd due to my two night stay at a hospital for heart attack symptoms (which eventually turned out to be panic attacks), I was 318 pounds. Lying there, not knowing whether I would totally be ok, I knew right then and there I had to change my life all the way around: physically, emotionally, and mentally. There is no way I could do this alone and so far I have employed everyone I could to help me in those areas. SparkPeople has been the missing link, giving me an opportunity to blog about my experiences and to meet others who are in the same boat as me.

Other than that, I am a full-time housewife of a sailor. My husband's name is Michael and he is my best friend and partner in crime (so funny, since he is an MA in the US Navy). We have no kids because of my weight (which will change by this time next year: 2011), but we have a dog named Lesko (my husband's former partner) and a cat named Primeau. They are a handful, especially since they don't get along but both are very lovable.

Well, that's me in a nutshell! My goals are to lose weight, start having children and enjoy life to its fullest! Hopefully, by the end of this year, I will be fit and fabulously healthy enough to do so. This is my goal.

My Goals:
My starting weight was 318 lbs. My goal is to be 150 lbs by my 30th birthday which is July 24, 2011! Gotta get it!!

My Program:
I took out sugar, dairy, eggs, red/pork meat, made my diet very low sodium (1000-1500 mg per day) and I no longer eat anything that was not cooked by my hands. I also exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes with my light day being Sunday.

Personal Information:
Hey everyone! My name is Tina and I have started my journey to lose over 150 lbs! I turn 29 in July and I aim to lose 60 lbs by then. I have already lost 20 so I aim to exceed my goal weight. If you have any tips or any types of motivation, please send them my way. I'd love to see it!

Other Information:
I love cooking and baking and am now using each in a healthier manner. I am loving blogging on here and have begun to blog every Tuesday. Check it out! It is my way to stay motivated and my personal aim to motivate others!

    Tina Congrats on your weight loss. You look Great!! Any tips you have please send my way. I have over a 100 to lose but starting with 10 and working it down from there. Thanks in advance

    Thanks for the tips and the friend add. Right now I am in the gym daily from one to two hours(split up), eating healthy foods-(weening myself off crackers), and I am reading up on counting calories. I have been counting them mentally but not writing down to keep track. I am not for certain I will count them just yet(testing it out). I have considered seeing a nutritionist but haven't set that up-I may check into it though. Thanks for all the tips and Congrats on your soon to be new addition emoticon

    You are absolutely one of the best for motivation. I've just visited your page for the first time and looked at your photos. I've now taken photos to view my progress. I wish I'd taken one when I started 11 pounds ago when clothes that fit now didn't fit then. THANK YOU sister, and keep up the good work. You are one of my heroines.

    Week 4 Fitness Minute Challenge: 275 minutes

    It's not too late to get started on the St. Patrick's Day Challenge. You still have 2 weeks to kick your weight loss effots in to gear and lose up to 5 pounds in 2 weeks. Let's do this!! Commit to 275 FM this week. I look at it this way, that's just 5 days of 45 minutes during the week, and then slip in 25 minutes before updating on Saturday. We will keep adding minutes each week. If you are already consistently exercising 275 minutes a week, challenge yourself to do another 50 minutes this week.
