Healthy Eating

First, I am an experienced dieter. I have tried most diets and plans and lose weight, but in time, gain it back. I feel it is a vicious cycle of being aware and being conscious of what we eat and exercising till we are about to drop. Just to look back and realize it is to do all over again. Why do we let this happen? We have not learned how to eat healthy and make exercise a part of our lives.

I feel it is a vicious cycle of being aware and being conscious of what we eat and exercising till we are about to drop. Just to look back and realize it is to do all over again. Why do we let this happen? We have not learned how to eat healthy and make exercise a part of our lives.

I am a 60 year old widow and a cancer survivor. My children and grandchildren live close and I enjoy being with them. It is a different life being a widow and not having my husband by my side. He was such a talker and made friends with everyone he met.

I moved to a new location in Texas after my husband passed away. It has been hard for me to meet people because I am a homebody. I did move to a friendly neighborhood and I feel blessed. I do know my neighbors and I call them friends.

It has been a tough few years, but things are looking up. I found SparkPeople and decided that I choose to be healthy, now and for always. I don’t think of it as a diet because I want to eat like this forever. There will be good times and bad times, as in life, but we have to hang in there. I know there will be a time I will maintain my weight and I can eat a little more food, but food cannot be my master are my best friend.

I hope God will take my hand and lead me into what he has in store for me. There is a plan because I am a survivor.

I went to the doctor today and she wants to put me on a low carb diet. I didn't think that was so bad, but the more I think about it I'm worried I won't be able to do it. I really should just follow my own advice and take it one day at a time, one meal at a time, baby steps. Let's just see what happens. I can only do the best I can.
