Our 2nd Anniversary Dinner in San Antonio
My new Saucony tennis shoes. :)
I'm 28, married to a wonderful man, Jason. We live in Baton Rouge, LA. I am a Christian & love the Lord with all my heart. I love to sing. I am the girl's youth pastor for our church; my husband is the youth pastor & worship leader for our church.
When Jason & I got married I was about 170 lbs. The reason for this is because being in college and living at home, I had healthier meals and walked everywhere on campus 5 days a week and had a job where I was on my feet all day. After being married almost a year I got up to 200 lbs easily since I was cooking for both of us & eating the same portions he was. I resolved I would not get any heavier. I started on SP & started counting calories. I got down to 190. I walked here and there and joined Curves for awhile, but the fitness aspect was my biggest problem. I just couldn't stick to it. I dropped off there for a little while, then my husband and I ordered the Power90 DVDs; which we both stuck to religiously, but I got bored quickly & he couldn't continue with his back. I bought a 10 minute solution dance DVD & did that on & off. But by the end of the day, I had no energy and didn't feel like working out after an 8 hour day at work. So we dropped off again. I moved my workouts to the mornings - I get up at 5 a.m., have my coffee & prayer/devotion time, & then workout for 30 min. I have been DVRing FitTV workouts and doing those consistently since October. I am constantly changing things up, because I get really bored easily. I finally made it down to 185.
I switched to the Baby Fit site when my husband & I started trying to conceive in Oct. 2012. I didn't find out until 6 mos. later (ugh!) that I had insulin resistance. I was diagnosed with that in Mar. 2013. I was put on Metformin/Glumetza and started the diet and exercise. Since Mar. 2013, I have lost 28 lbs. - which is AWESOME! But, so far the weight loss has not regulated my VERY irregular cycle or helped with my fertility. No cycle, no ovulation. So my OBGYN did 3 rounds of progesterone and clomid to try to conceive. Not until the 2nd round of clomid did my OBGYN say "PCOS". We did follicle scans to try to prepare to do and IUI procedure. My follicles wouldn't grow to the right size even with the medicine. So this month (Dec 2013), my husband and I decided to stop the rounds of clomid/scans because they were too expensive and we couldn't afford it anymore. So now we're focusing on losing the rest of the weight and getting healthier and trying on our own and putting in God's hands. I haven't done so well because of the holidays, but I am resolving to lose the rest in the new year. :)
have children one day, get down to a healthy weight - lose 10 lbs. at a time until at goal weight - like to be around 140/130.
Exercise 30 minutes daily. Watch calories.

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.” -Kenneth Blanchard
I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.
