Another Monday is upon us and we are in the month of October. Where has the time gone? Another year is fast approaching; 2010; oh my goodness. Just think the holidays are fast approaching and my thoughts are how I will navigate through the festivities.
Let me mention planning, we must plan. We should not be afraid of the holidays; we should be prepared for the holidays. Have you ever heard of the 5 Pís; (Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance)? We must use this philosophy on our journey, the more we are prepared, the more we plan the better we can perform. So the message for the week is planning to be prepared. I find that when I plan ahead I have fewer bumps in the road, especially my meals. Besides, we are embarking upon a permanent lifestyle, we plan to live healthier and longer, so the holidays will continue to come and we will be ready!
Remember, whatever happened last week, in is the past, you cannot undo it. So if it was a bad week, that week is gone, plan for a better week, speak it into existence, plan the upcoming week and prepare to do it over and over again. Learn the lesson that was there for you and help someone else along the way.

Good Monday Morning,
This week the message is short. The month of September is almost over; can you believe it, almost done! We are getting ready to bring in October which brings us closer to the holidays and the end of the year.
I am joyful today and Iím hopeful that this week will be wonderful for you. It is a positive state of mind and attitude we must possess, we must claim it and speak it into existence. Sometimes we have to really dig deep to find the positives in a negative situation. So what if you had a lousy go of it last week; thatís done, itís over; do not revisit or dwell on it. If you made mistakes; you know my motto; chalk it up as a lesson learned and move forward. So with that, letís move forward to the great week thatís ahead of us. Letís proceed by saying: it will be a good week, I will do everything in my power to make it so!

On September 10, 2009 I celebrated my 5th anniversary of being cancer free!
I canít begin to tell you what that means to mean. In 2004 I was not sure I would be alive to tell the story, but I am here and I must share my thoughts with you!
I would like to remind you that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am preparing early to get the word out to everyone that will listen. There is a slogan that states ďEarly detection is the best Protection.Ē I must say itís true. I am a living witness; yes a living witness! Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, aside from skin cancer. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), an estimated 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed among women in the United States this year. An estimated 40,170 women are expected to die from the disease in 2009 alone. Today, there are about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States.
We are on this journey together to reduce the numbers we see on the scale. This is wonderful, become better, healthier new and improved. However, itís more than numbers on the scale. We must monitor all aspects of our health to ensure we are healthier in aspects of life. In addition to losing the weight, we want to be around to enjoy it. So please, please, please take the time out and take care of yourselves. Encourage your friends and love ones to do the same; itís all a part of the big picture, not just the scales.
Regardless of your current status, you are all beautiful people and you deserve the best life has to offer. So while youíre making plans to do your cardio, resistance/strength training, make plans to care for your body, become familiar with it. It only takes a moment to give yourself an exam and spread the word. Letís live life to the fullest, try things we only dream of, go places weíve only seen on television and dare to be the best we can be; not only for ourselves, but those that love us as well.
