Now I'm 32 and the stupid Wii Balance board keeps telling me I'm overweight. I'm here to change that, and I WILL. Roll Call: April 22, 2011 ~ Logged back into SP after a lengthy hiatus. I have no idea exactly what I weigh right now (I'm at at job numero 2 as a type this) so I'm ball-parking it until I can step on a scale. ~~Past Successes~~ WEIGHT (and stuff) TIMELINE December 20, 2006 - Joined SparkPeople. Didn't bother coming back until; August 28, 2009 - A week of epiphanies. An A1c of 7.6%. Frank discussion with Dr. Finally found my backbone buried somewhere under my devil-may-care attitude. Gave both an adjustment, and finally created my profile here on SparkPeople. Started just logging nutrition (not changing how I ate). Guesstimated my weight to be 190 (instead of actually checking). August 30, 2009 - Got on the Wii Balance board for a round of step aerobics and discovered that I actually weighed 198 lbs. Could have cried. August 31, 2009 - After discovering (thanks to the awesome Nutrition tracker) that I was eating over two thousand calories a day, I got down to business. This is the day I start eating better, striving for a goal of 1200 - 1500 calories / day. September 9, 2009 - 192 lbs September 17, 2009 - 190 lbs (WOOT!!) September 25, 2009 - 189 lbs (down 9 coffee mugs YEAH!) October 3, 2009: 188 lbs - I have lost 10 pounds!!!! 5% of my body weight gone! October 8, 2009: 187 lbs October 16, 2009: 185 lbs October 23, 2009: 184 lbs October 29, 2009: 182 lbs November 6, 2009: 181 lbs November 20, 2009: 180 lbs November 27, 2009: 179 lbs (1 more lb to go to my goal of 10% body weight loss!) December 4, 2009: I'm a Motivational Member! *Shock* *Awe* Weight still 179 lbs. December 12, 2009: 177 lbs!! 21 lbs and 10% body weight loss DONE! December 19, 2009: 174 lbs *Plateau, BIG TIME!* January 16, 2010: 173 lbs - 25 pounds lighter!! WOOHOO!! For years I've said "Some day I'd like to be a runner". Well, some day is here. I'm doing the Couch to 5K program and soon I'll be Flying. W1D1: DONE October 23, 2009 W1D2: DONE October 26, 2009 W1D3: DONE October 28, 2009 Week 1: DONE!! W2D1: DONE October 30, 2009 W2D2: DONE November 2, 2009 W2D3: DONE(ish) November 4, 2009 W2D3 (Take 2): DONE November 6, 2009 Week 2: DONE (for real!) W3D1: DONE November 9, 2009 W3D2: DONE November 11, 2009 W3D3: DONE November 19, 2009 (after time off for a cold!) Week 3: DONE!! W4D1: DONE November 21, 2009 (Ahh I ran for FIVE Minutes!!) W4D1: REDONE December 21, 2009 (I am back in the saddle baby!!) W4D2: DONE!! W4D3: DONE!! W5D1: DONE!! W5D2: DONE!! Jan. 13/10 W5D3: FREAKING DONE!! Jan. 17/10 - I ran for TWENTY minutes, cue the Rocky theme song!! W6D1: DONE!! Jan. 19/10 W6D2: DONE!! Jan. 21/10 *Fighting a chest cold (ick) and sidelined. Again.* Finished Weeks 6 and 7 and took a[nother] hiatus. Came back to find that my body couldn't handle even 10 minutes of running, let alone 28 minutes! Soooooo: DO-OVER!!! Goals from 2009, reposted to prove that I CAN do this!: Short Term Goal: To lose 10% of my body weight (20 lbs) before December 31, 2009. - DONE December 12/09!!

My Goals:
Lose weight, obviously. But more importantly, BE HAPPY. And look hot doing it - get rid of the double chin. And the back fat. And my mother's hips!
My Program:
Step 1 is to ease myself into adopting habits of a healthy lifestyle. Strive for a weight loss goal of 1 - 2 pounds per week. Most of all, forgiving myself if I screw up...but not excusing myself. Step 2: - Maintain a daily caloric intake between 1200 - 1600 calories. Strive for an average of 1400 calories/day. - Eat less than 250 CHO / day. - Have my daily fat intake at less than 30% of my daily caloric intake. - Couch to 5K program.
Personal Information:
I am 32 years old, 5'2". I have a really small bone structure - I used to shop in the kiddie store. This girl is proud to be Canadian, eh! I live in Alberta, and frequently ask myself why (brrr). I have a diploma as a Nursing Unit Clerk, used to be a PCA for a special needs child, am now an Accountant, and I'm going back to school for my CGA designation. I'm an avid reader who is trying to break the one-a-day habit, a gardener and a hobbyist Photographer. I shoot religiously with a Canon XSi and would some day love to take it professional! (Pictures I've taken are Copyright ME. Please don't use them without my permission, kthx!)

I'm often irreverent and thrive on sarcasm. Suzy Sunshine I am not; I'm a realist, not an optimist. I make fun of myself. A Lot. And then I blog about it. Why the hell not?? It's funny.
