I'm busy getting stronger!

Turning 40 this year and hoping to beat the black dog. I've done it before I can do it again. I know to feel my best I need to lose about 13 pounds and get to lifting again. Right now slow and steady is the name of the game. Baby steps back to me!

My Goals:
Lose 13 pounds, focus on whole foods or at least a better diet, get some sunshine, and think positive!

My Program:
When I am at my best it is heavy weights and HIIT cardio.
When I am at my worst it is a 10 min walk, if I'm lucky. Hoping for more of the former in 2016.

Personal Information:
Mom of two just struggling to find my balance and purpose.

I'm an RN trying to find my "niche". I love working out and helping people so looking at becoming a personal trainer in my spare time.

Hi Nurse Thrashej, Happy New Year! Thank you for being so inspiring. I read your comments to Gymgirl79 and I have ordered those books on weight lifting for women. I can't wait to read them put them to practice...I have a question for you...when you say "last 2 reps should be very difficult"...when you do squats, for example, do you start lifting heavy and then work down? With the last 2 reps being difficlut for each set? I normally start lower and work up, so of course, the "very difficult" only occurs on the last two sets or so.
