13 O'Clock Never Comes...

Originally from Detroit, I now live in Key West, where life is a whole lot easier when you are comfortable in a bathing suit (something I've not felt in 10 years or so...hence me being here at spark). I've been married for 13 years and have two children; Our son Cain is 12 and our daughter Lily is 2 years old.

For years, I've been waiting to do a lot of things...get healthy, lose weight, go back to school, go back to work, etc. All those years, I've been waiting for a time ...

For years, I've been waiting to do a lot of things...get healthy, lose weight, go back to school, go back to work, etc. All those years, I've been waiting for a time that can never come, because I was only WAITING and not DOING. I don't feel good about myself, so I put off meeting new people, trying new things, going to new places, etc. No more waiting for the clock to strike 13....time to get off my butt and make my life happen. (That is me, trying to talk myself into it...it is the follow through I have issues with!)

My Goals:
My goals are simple: to fit into a single digit pant size. To wake up and not have my weight or unhealthiness be the first thing I think of. To gain the confidence to get back out into the world for my sake and for the sake of my children.

My Program:
Taking it slowly...ten minutes of intentional exercise everyday, NO EXCUSES. That, and trying to avoid my beloved carbs and sugars to see if it helps with what I fear is becoming blood sugar issues.

Personal Information:
Originally from Detroit, I now live in Key West, FL.

To achieve more, be a person of action. Throughout your day keep in mind the old saying, “all else fails without action”. As you put forth effort on the things you deem to be most worthwhile, you will find that your inner belief system grows.

The beliefs you hold about yourself determine the goals you are able to manifest in your life. Dream big, for when you do, truly you will see that your life becomes one filled with rich life experiences.

Found this poem while searching for some motivation, hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Anything is Possible
By Unknown

If there was ever a time to dare, to make a difference, to embark on something worth doing, IT IS NOW.
Not for any grand cause, necessarily...
but for something that tugs at your heart, something that's your inspiration, something that's your dream.
You owe it to yourself to make your days here count.
HAVE FUN.
DIG DEEP.
STRETCH.
DREAM BIG.

Know, though, that things worth doing seldom come easy.
There will be good days.
And there will be bad days.
There will be times when you want to turn around, pack it up, and call it quits.
Those times tell you that you are pushing yourself, that you are not afraid to learn by trying.

PERSIST.
Because with an idea, determination, and the right tools, you can do great things.
Let your instincts, your intellect, and your heart, guide you.

TRUST.
Believe in the incredible power of the human mind.
Of doing something that makes a difference.
Of working hard.
Of laughing and hoping.
Of lazy afternoons.
Of lasting friends.
Of all the things that will cross your path this year.
The start of something new brings the hope of something great, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
